I am planning on changing the blue MB wreath badge for a black one. I have bought one, but now when I look at the one on the car, it appears as though it has a slight bend in it to match the crease of the body work. I’m unsure whether the badge has been bent slightly or if really it is a flat badge and it just appears to be moulded to the shape - does anyone know whether the correct badge for a 2014 (pre face lift) CLS has a slight bend in it? If so, I have bought the wrong one, and if so, does anyone know the correct part number for this please?
Yes the w218 has bends part nb for oem blue 2188170116.
Thanks Robert - it’s a flat black one I have bought to replace the blue one, so I’ll just have to sell the one I have. Do you know if they make a bent black one at all please and again what the number would be for that please?
My 2017 with night package trim came with the black badge, and yes it does have a bend in the middle to blend in with the contour of the hood. I cannot speak for the earlier years, but perhaps try searching for your year with night package trim.
I replaced the emblem with the black one recently on my W218 2015 CLS63. I bought from this seller on eBay: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/175513757544
To take out the original badge, I had to pry it out (be careful not to damage your paint). Replacement badge has a slight bend like the OEM and fits perfectly.
You pried it out from the top? With a plastic pry tool?
I have been trying to figure out how to get to it from underneath but haven't been able to figure it out.

Yes from the top. It sits pretty flush so you will have to find something thin. I used a small screw driver and did it over a towel but be careful as you can damage your paint (thankfully I didn't). Maybe try fishing line.
