I already had E55 loved it but traded for ML350 due to the baby girl coming in September. So What would you buy and keep CLS55 or E55?

you must remember in the cls you can only have 4 people max, so if you plan on having more kids, the ml is fine, but what if its not there, i know the cls had better handling and a stiffer suspension than the e, and the cls is a "newer" style body but i think you should go back to the e, i think the e will last longer too, you dotn know what long term probs you might have with the cls

I love my E55 but the CLS55 is sooooo perty. I think a black CLS is without a doubt the best looking sedan on the road. Look at it this way......you still get all the E55's street prowess but with the looks of a Monet masterpiece.

I think the styling on the CLS is sweet. If I was looking for a two-seat with a "few" backseat passenger trips, then I'd go for the CLS. It has no backseat IMO. Else, the E55 is prob. a better option.

i have 4 kids, so it doesn't matter. That's what the SUV is for. The CLS is sooooo much nicer looking IMO. I've had both and the CLS is just a better car.

i think the answer is obvious here, why would u want to do the E again when the streets are FLOODED? Im sure we'll be seeing more CLSes as the years go by, but no where near as many as the E class, especially if they keep the CLS350 out of the states (fingers crossed). Like u say, they are the same platform, so nothing to compare there, its your second car, u dont need the seating. A number of people who owned both the CLS and E all take the CLS over the E, the CLS looks a million times better, and the interior is better as well. Do yourself a favor and go with the CLS!!

I'd definitely pick a CLS55 over an E55. I'm actually thinking about picking one up new or second hand in the next year or two. As long as I can fit a child seat in the back

I would keep a Porsche turbo for over 5 years easy. But if I had to chose between a cls 55 and an e55 i would probably go with the CLS55 and in a few years do some RennTech mods.

Definitely go with the CLS55 since this will be the last supercharged motor before the 6.3 motor comes next year.

You already owned the E55, and there is not much new technology
from the current E55 ( not even a facelift yet ) and the CLS55
basically carries the same E55 engine (V8 Kompressor) which is fading out too.

So, it is a waste of your time and money and I am doubt you would have the same excitement as when it was the first time you got your E55 believe me. Thus, you will relatively be getting another point A to point B machine like the ML350.

I would wait for the E63 or CLS63 with more power and a 7 or 8 G-Tronic transmission; or at least some of the new S Class technology gets transferred to them.

Excuse the stupid single guy question.... but an E55 is a 4 door sedan... and you have one baby girl.... if it holds 4 adults comfortable, why can't it (or a CLS) hold two and a baby girl in a car seat? Its less susceptible to rollover, has better braking/handling dynamics, and would keep your baby girl (not to mention your wife) probably a lot safer. It would waste less gas (at $3 a gallon now) and doesn't polute quite as much. I don't hear good reliability stories on the ML either.

Why do you need an offroad vehicle because you have one baby girl? If you need more room, you can get the E55 wagon and gain space and lose nothing else. Believe me it may be a wagon but that is one cool *** wagon....
Between the E and a CLS, I can bet tyou any amount of money the CLS will have much better resale value. Its a new design...

How about a CLS and an E55 wagon? that would be very cool.

BTW, do you think the baby girl can tell the difference between a E55 and a CLS55 ?
