im must wondering if any of you know how the adaptive headlights work. i tried looking at them while someone turned the wheels but i the lights arent moving at all. (ive seen them move side to side on the bimmers).

 

You cannot be stationary for the lights to move.

 

Due to the change in the bumper/lower grill betwen the 500 and the 55 AMG, the lights turn sllightly if at all.

I don't think the lights move at all. It are the foglights that turn on when you turn the car.

For example: when you make a right turn, the right foglamp lights up

Also, the cornering light function is active above 40 km/h.

I checked your links. I think they were talking about the headlamps themselves.

The reason the lights don't turn when you are stationary is so that you don't blind other drivers during a red light or what not.
