I was highly suspicious so I actually emailed this POS. Here is what his reply was. Looks really suspect....

Hello sir,

First of all i want to thank you for your question and i want to tell you that the car
is absolutely gorgeous, it has not damages what so ever, it is almost NEW. It hasen`t been involved in any kind of accidents an it hasn`t got any scratches on it.
I am a private seller and the first owner of the car.
The car is in conformity with the US legislation (it is US street legal).
The warranty extends to all over US for the next 5 years to the engine and unlimited warranty for the bodyparts.
The vehicle is compatible in every single point with europeans vehicles.
I was born in Henderson, NV, but lived all my life in Europe and right now, i am in Europe, just got married and the car was left in US at a company`s auto parck .

The price is not negociable of 43,800.00 USD (VAT, shipping included).

We can do the deal two ways, eigher you deposit an insurance into my account and after that, eighter the car will be delivered at your home address or you can pick it up, eighter you go on with the second alternative through an escrow service as follows.

I have hired a company to sell it for me.

That company will take care of the papers and the delivery of the car at your door!!!

I may have fallen for this in my younger days.....

Usually the scam has the car stored in Europe. This one says it's in the US. What would happen if you asked to see the car?

For 43k, I'm going to buy it tonight!

Yes, request the address to view the car. Also ask for the name and phone number of the escrow service. If the response to either question is flakey, then it's probably a scam.

No longer car shopping...
I live ijust outside Charlotte, NC. Let me know if he gives you a NC addy for the car and let him know you have a "friend" that would be happy to see it in person. I'd be willing to bet a driink or two that he won't even let you (or you frien,me) see the car in person. Story usually goes... "Is in the possession of a 3rd-party company and can't let other "see" it. Often they even say that they are "wrapped in plastic"

What do they think, that a buyer would say "Oh I can't see it until I pay you? Well okey-dokey, here's a check"

The scam is usually less transparent but, yes. The seller will "claim" that the car is in the hands of an intermediary. Sometimes they say it's a financing issue. Other times they say they can't get it out of the "storage" area prior to sale. In this case, the guy says it's in a "parking deck"? yea, right. Here's a set of keys and the fake title and bill of sale. The car is right over there... on the forth level, seciton 18 of the Thomas deck downtown. Just go over there and drive it away.... Idiot buyer hands him the check and then walks to the car. Before the key gets into the lock, the criminals are gone!

This only works because people are greedy by nature and will therefore convince themselves that "the deal" is worth a "little inconvinence". One born every day. Some even have money. Speaking of idiots with (supposed) $, I wonder if Mashedpotato is reading this now...

What would be funny is to send him a counterfeit money order through a private courier service and had them cash it and get arrested

They are full of these scams in Craglists and eBay selling from Plasma to <$10,000 items. But this is my 1st time, I see they use this trick in a $90K+ vehicle. I always wonder is there anyone will send them the money and waiting the stuff to come???

He'd have a much better chance of pulling the scam off if he priced the car at a more realistic level, like $70K. What a phucking idiot....
