Welcome the Noob!
I just found this forum while searching for CLS55 forums...I found 2 fine looking ones, but this one had a local member I wanted to PM. So here I am!
I am considering a possible purchase in a few months, and am trying to learn as much as I can about the car. I'm between the CLS55, Porsche 911 Carrera S, or a BMW 650ci. I know the pros and cons of each choice, but only time will tell after I drive the hell out of each one.
I'm mainly interested in what types of mods are available and how each one affects the warranty. I know I'll learn in due time. I just can't leave anything stock
Time to go read some more
I tried to stay away from another automatic sedan since I'm looking for something different that what I have now (I manually shift like a stick too), but the CLS55 is really stuck in my head.
Btw, does anyone know the true top speed of the 55?
I've gotten my Buick to 151mph

. My guess would be around 200 mph or so...I could be wrong though...
I have hit 155 and the car was just starting to breath... half a throttle left.

).I still remember the good old German Autobahn-days when I was sitting next to my Mum while she was sweeping the left lane in her black BMW 540 at 140 mph on a daily basis (That was 5 years ago). I never had the pleasure to drive in Germany since I got my license in the States...

Looks like a virgin, eh?
VelocitE55, you may remember my car, although it doesn't really stand out much. There are exactly 3 of these in this color combo in the valley. The other two are old retired people though
I've just enjoyed blowing people away with it, especially since it's faster than they'd expect. It's a rear-wheel drive and has an LT1 engine. It's the same engine/drivetrain as the 96 Chevy Impala. Newer cars are significantly faster though so I need to keep up
Excuse me while I go peel out
