CLS55 or S550???

Whats up guys i'm new here. Just wanted to get some opinions from benz owners instead of my friends. I have on order a Alabaster white CLS55 due in may. Just sold my phoenix yellow M3 which was head to AC Schnitzer literally. I originally wanted something really big like the S550 but wanted an AMG model. seeing how the next one up from the 550 is the 600 and is out of my price range i am stuck between the cls55 and the s550 with AMG package and all that good stuff. I know i'm giving up alot of power with by getting the s550 but i lost my license one two many times (habitual) with the M3 and dont know if i trust myself with the cls55. What are you guys' opinion on each pros and cons??? sorry for being so long just tired of ripping my hair out not knowing what to get...

Question Two Totally Different Cars!!!!!

Birdmann - Welcome to the Forum. If the size of the S550 is a major plus for your needs and is a higher priority than pure unadulterated SEX on wheels than the CLS55 is not for you. The interior is relatively snug in the CLS55 compared to the S550, which borders on being a Land Yacht.

Now, coming from an M3, the CLS55 is much bigger and much more in line with your tastes as evidenced by your choice in the M3 you have just sold. If you ask me there is no decision to be made other than BUY THE CLS55!!!!

Depends on what kind of a car you want. If you want nice luxury car which is very comfortable, quiet, roomy and with some good power go with the S550. Its pretty fast its not that slow i mean 382 hp and 392lb of torque i believe. Thats pretty fast for a big luxury car like that. If you want a car that is still very luxurios inside and out, has a unique look that most everyone likes. Also ask ur self if you need alot of headroom and backroom for the back passengers. If so i wouldn't recommend the CLS because its pretty tight back there but its not that bad depending on whos sitting there. Nothng can stand in its way. Plenty of power put into ultimate luxury. But you did mention you got your lisence taken away a couple of times. Its all up to you on what you want and what ur needs are. Good luck on your decision. Both ways you can't go wrong both are my fav cars at the moment.

Pretty much like choosing between a Large Hugo Boss shirt and a euro fit one....you buy what fits you. That being said if I HAD to get a 4 door I would get a S550;only because its the new bully on the block....so badass. But the CLS55 will be more fun to drive hard and youre coming from an M3...

Its not a brainer, get yourself a CLS55 AMG, and about your license, S is not that much slower so in both cars you can go very very fast....get the CLS55, its an amazing car and best benz ever, at least in my eyes...

My thoughts exactly. And I feel the same way, if it's between those 2 rides, get the CLS55. You can get in just as much trouble with the law with either car.

Regardless of which car you get, keep your foot out of it unless you're on the track.
