Which wheel style for Graphite Designo CLS 55 ?
Graphite Designo CLS 55 will be here soon. I want to replace the factory wheels with 20" forged 3-pc in 20x9" front (255/30) and 20x10.5" rear (295/25) for Michelin PS2. DCR Forged wheels are available at pretty aggressive prices right now, wheel and PS2 tire package will run just over $5k.
Standard finish is chrome lip with silver, black, white, or charcoal center. Optional finishes ($90 per wheel) are chrome, black chrome, brushed, high polish, and anodized paint. Would any particular combination be synergistic with the graphite paint ? I was thinking the black chrome may be interesting... the Le Mans wheel is shown with black chrome center although I'm not sure how realistic the picture is. Larger pictures is available through DCR Wheels website
With my wife's help we narrowed the wheel styles down to these four. I like them all and am having a tough time picking one. Which do you like the best or least ?
Thanks in advance for your opinions!
Hockenheim
Nurburgring
Le Mans
Catalanya

doesn't black chrome look like the window trim MB uses on many of its cars?
brushed wheels always look good with intermediate colors; plus, they're not overstated the way chrome sometimes can come across. then again, if you're looking to make a big statement (and with a cls on 20" rims, it's fair to assume that you are), maybe chrome is right up your alley. not to my taste, but it's your car - do what feels right!
i wonder what a set of nice bbs rims would look like on the CLS? i'm sure there's some **** on that topic around here somewhere, but i can't recall having seen it... bbs' look great on the e55 -- hell, they look great on just about anything.
i see a lot of cls' with aftermarket wheels like those in your photos. i can't say any of that stuff does much for me; i like the simple, straightforward look of the stock cls and e 55 wheels, and i also like wheels that don't talk over the car's lines - to me, overstated rims on an already avant-garde bodystyle make it look like the owner's trying a bit too hard to say something.
but i'm not speaking for the masses here, and i'm certainly not presuming to speak for you or what you oughtta do with your hot new car, other than to tell you to enjoy the hell out of it!

I'm considering other options too... I really like the Vellano VSM, AVUS AF-MF02 and Radenergie R10, but the DCR will be cheaper and the difference could go towards a lowering module
Actually the DCR Laguna Seca bears resemblence with the R10, and would be easier to clean than the Le Mans
