Question Is the CLS63 replacing the CLS55 in '07?

I have seen production dates for CLS550 and CLS63 in '07. Will there be no CLS55 next year?

Correct, as of 3 weeks ago you could not place a order for a 2006 CLS 500 or 55, the 2007 model will be CLS 550 and CLS 63

They should start production for the US around June to July as a 2007 model,
probably July to August before they hit dealers. I hoping to see one when Im at the factory next week.

No knock on the 63, I"m sure it will be nice. I just love having a S/C car, with all of the low end torque.

2019 G550. 2018 AMG GT roadster
Production run

BoB,
Although the CLS55 was made in 05 and 06, they are all technically 06 model cars.

1 year run.

My CLS63 was ordered today. There are 2 option packages available. The standalone options are electronic trunk closer, distronic, and parktronic. All of the other options are covered in the packages. I ordered Obsidian/Charcoal. Hopefully August delivery.

Are you gonna trade your m5 for it?

The "keyless go" is not a stand alone option? It was for the CLS55.

No pricing yet. I am selling my M5 now for the M6 that is 2 weeks away. Keyless GO is part of the "package 2".

Wonder what a one year run on the CLS55 will do for the resale value? I would think that it would help it, since that was the only S/C model for the car.

A lot will depend on what type of reviews the 63 gets vs. the 55, if they still miss the 55's massive 516 lb ft of trq and the easy accessibility to performance gains the 55's might have somewhat of a cult following and better than average resale...time will tell.

CLS63 AMG
Hey, I was at the dealership and my salesperson wanted me to option out my CLS63. My E55 lease is up in Dec so I didn't really want to do it yet. But, I had a chance to look at my order on the screen. I didn't see the 030 option. Funny thing was, I wanted the tire pressure monitoring and then the system told them I needed the 030 option. The dealership was going to call MB to see what was up. Does anybody know if the 030 option is offered? I want the limited slip since the E55 launch is so hard with so much torque.

Now don't get me wrong, I love TORQUE. But, I don't think anybody has every been able to put 519 lbs of torque down at a red light. So the 63 engine is kinda of interesting to me now. At first I was upset there was less torque, but then thinking about it, I can't press my pedal more than 50% at the light anyways, so, like I said, the 63 engine would be very interesting.

Please let me know if any of you have any info on on the limited slip or the 030 option.

Thanks.
