Why does this CLS55 has these rims?

I was looking around for used CLS55's when I stumbled across this one. The rims are not the stock ones. What are these? They almost look like 18 inchers.
I called the dealership and he said they look like stock to him. What a dope. I wish these people knew what the cars they sell look like.

I sure that car had aftermarket wheels at one point and someone threw non- amg wheels on to replace them.

those are the CLS500 rims. my guess is that there are winter tires on those wheels. call the dealer and ask him what type of tires are on them.

Another possibility is that the rims are the right rims, and it's actually a CLS500 posing with a 55 grille and fender badges. Unlikely, but possible.

But it also seems unlikely that a dealer would try to sell a CLS55 without the AMG wheels. That's a huge, huge turnoff to an AMG person.

That is a 55, you can tell by the AMG brakes and rotors if u look closely.. It might of been that person had rims on it and sold the stocks and then he wanted factory rims on it and didnt wana spend the extra on amg so he bought the 500 rims.. Or the Dealers are being D@#^s... One or the other

Well this car has been haunting me for the past week. So I e-mailed the dealership posing as an interested customer. I asked why the car had 18 inch rims and would it come with the stock 19 inch rims? They e-mailed me back with this:

Mr. Stiggs:

Thank you for your inquiry regarding the 2006 CLS55 located at R&S Imports in Ft. Washington, PA. The vehicle is still available. It currently has the 18" wheels on it and we do not have the 19" wheels. Please let me know if you are still interested in this vehicle.

Uhhhhhhh....can you say false advertising? I e-mailed them right back and said if you return the car to stock then I might be interested. What jackholes!

More updates......just got an e-mail for some girl at the dealership:

The vehicle was traded into our dealership by a local professional basketball
player. He purchased the vehicle with the 18" wheels on it and promptly put a
different set of 20" wheels on the vehicle. The only factory wheels we have are
the 18" set and that's how we will be selling the vehicle. Let me know what you
think.
Thanks,
Danielle
