So I thought the brakes were going to be different?
here's the info on the 2007 CLS63 brakes off the website:
Brakes: AMG-enhanced 4-circuit electrohydraulic 4-wheel disc brakes. 14.2" perforated and ventilated front discs. 13.0" perforated and ventilated rear discs. AMG 6-piston fixed front and AMG 4-piston fixed rear calipers.
And here's the info from the 2007 CLK63 brakes:
Brakes: AMG-enhanced dual-circuit power-assisted 4-wheel disc brakes. 14.2" compound perforated and internally ventilated front discs and 13.0" internally ventilated rear discs. AMG 6-piston fixed front and AMG 4-piston fixed rear calipers.
so I take it the stupid electronic brakes are still in the CLS63?? I thought they were getting rid of them??? That sucks major ***! That was one main reason I was happy the new CLS63 was coming...better brakes.

I am sure that I have read that 'Sensotronic' - or whatever it was called - is gone on the E (and the SL and S if it was used on them prior to MY2007)-- don't know about the CLS...but why wouldn't they have changed it out?
Are you sure that they're just not mentioning the change, and that the nomenclature and the sizes that they are using are the same, but not the control system?

The MBUSA website is full of mistakes; it claims the E63 is supercharged, when we all know it is not. Their info on the E63 and CLS63 brakes is wrong, too.

I really do hope Sensotronic is eliminated from the CLS63 and E63 - considering both as options for my next car but wouldn't want the braking system that's on the SL500 I now have.
I find modulation extremely difficult with Sensotronic when stopping or slowing down at all speeds. One of the few complaints I have against the SL.

2007 cls63 amg brochure
I think both could be correct!! THe standard in the brochure are "14.2 6 pistons in front and 13.0 4 pistons in rear". With the 030 AMG performance package you get an "AMG compound breaking system".
Initially, the 030 package wasn't available, but it is now for 9500. and includes other goodies.
Sounds like maybe they didn't have this available for early 63s so they were going out like 55s??
hope this helps.
