Took CLS55 to the drag strip...
Ran her today at New England Dragway in Epping, NH.
6 runs. All 12.7x - 12.8x at 111.x - 112.x.
The car is bone stock. Transmission in D. ESP on. Tire pressure per MB's recommendations. Suspension in softest setting. Weather was 73-75 degrees.

That time is way slower than the launches with my E55 where I regularly got 60ft times in the 1.78 range, and ended up with an ET of 12.169 at a trap of only 114 - so you can see how a really great lanuch can make all the difference.
I really had the launch on that car down - I still think my 60ft times were some of the fastest ever posted on drag times for stock tires - but then the E55 had 18" tires and the CLS55 has 19" tires (too low a profile for luanching- not enough sidewall to flex)
PS if you lower your rears to around 25lbs it will make a huge difference in your launch - go back and your times will improve - and the colder drier air is on the way - damn I love winter here in Florida!!!!!

my best so far was a 12.6 with a 60ft time over 2s. i wish i could find the time slip so that i can post on that database.
im gonna try to go again and see what i can do with the kleeman k1

It was tough to get sub-2's on the 60' time this particular day; was close with 2.0x's. A few guys blew axles / parts during the day and with misc parts then being mashed into the hole shot area, the track people had to use a steamroller and other equipment to remedy things on 2 occasions for about 30 minutes each time. I didn't see the incidents occur but that's what the track officials told me. No accountability being assigned to anyone other than myself for my performance. I definitely should have been better and into the very high 1.9's, regardless.
Point is, seems this CLS55 with a good launch would have been at very high 12.5x's and 114-115 mph and that's probably pretty much all she might have in her... To put the CLS55's launch conditions in perspective, last year at the same track, bone stock CL65 (738 lb-ft of torque at 2000 rpm; tire pressures per factory specs), was pretty easily laying down 1.8's in 85-degree ambient temps.

CLS 55, RennTech stage 4
Florida Drag
ATrain I have a CLS 55 and live in Boca. Where are you and what drag strip do you run you CLS on?
I am in the process of having Renn Tech up in WPB install stage 4 and want to see what times I can turn when it is finished?

I hope you had it in S mode. Just in case you don't know, C starts it in 2nd gear. In other words, being in C and showing D aren't mutually exclusive, I don't think, but I'm too lazy to check
