a little warning. DON'T DO THIS!!

So the other day, I had to wait in the car for 5 minutes. I got bored cause there was nothing on Raw Dawg worth listening to so i started to peel the airbag/seatbelt warning sticker on the visor. Well, guess what. It was not meant to come off. DO NOT DO IT!
Just the same though, it gives me an excuse to order that visor with built in LCD + backup cam and see if it looks ghey or not.

Glad I read this. I was sitting in mine the other day thinking the exact same thing. I was going to search the forum 1st, but now I don't have to.

which sticker? the small one that you see when the visor is in its resting position or the big one on the plastic mirror?

I had great luck removing my small ones last week with some goof-off that i bought several years ago for this purpose on a previous car. the alcantra is perfect and the sticker and all residue are totally gone. i would recommend this to everyone.

BUT - the one on the back side, the larger one stuck to the plastic, leave that one alone. the sticker residue does not come off of the plastic very well and if you think you can get it off w/ the goof off, you will make a mess and the solvent will smell from the plastic for several days.

once you clean up the left overs from the alcantra w/ the goof off, you will be happy you peeled it off originally.

I have removed both stickers from my AMG's. The backside is a little more gooey but I used 3M adhesive renmover and all of the residue came off easily.

Just to be clear, you removed the one that is looking right at you when the visor is up, and you used the goof off on the Alcantra without any issues?

Trezaei, have you tried this, what was the damage when you removed them?

Yeah I tried to remove the piece on the Alcantra and it got seriously messed up. So I tried sticking it back on for now which looks terrible. I am not sure what goof off will do on Alcantra but guess what as soon as I get back from Seattle next week I'll test it and and take some before after pix for you guys and let you know. My advice is, just learn to live with the sticker. The sticker is your friend. One of those friends that if you try to rip off will turn in to an ugly problem.

use a hair dryer to heat up the sticker while peeling and it will come off the alcantara very nicely

Never saw anyone follow up on their sticker removal. I have a half peeled sticker and am also concerned about using goof off on alcantara. Dogshine, is your leather black? i'm worried i'm going to fade it...

will try that, but i have some crud stuck to the leather already. (made the mistake of picking at it) so trying to figure how to clean up that stuff that didn't come off clean.

Are you laughing at my misery Lady AMG?

Haha...no, I'm not laughing at you. I just think it's funny cause I was picturing some guy in my head sitting in his car peeling that sticker off and then going 'WTF....'

That's hillarious. cause you got the imagery exactly right. Followed by a "Doh!" when i tried to stick it back and it just kind of hung there, half on ad half off.

It's a 2008.

My E63 is one of my favorite cars so far. I came from owning a string a BMW's, including an E46 M3. I thought for sure I'd end up with an E60 M5 after that, but I test drove my E63 just for fun one day. I was so impressed that I ended up buying it.
