I had to leave it. took a day and a half, I am sure it could be done in same day if you get in early and have an appt. Car is faster now and staying in lower gear longer. w/o you guys I would have never known there was a prob. THANKS EVERYONE for helping me on this thread, great info Trezaei
That's something I wish you could disable. It's also the only think I like about BMW. They have like a thousand transmission settings most of which you'll never ever use.
Adaptive transmission might be fine for those that get an MB for luxury only but it's not for me. I guess M mode is their answer

Actually bro, I am not sure you had a problem. You have to remember that the transmission is "adaptive". Meaning it'll drive the way you drive more often. So if you're driving in the slow LA traffic all day, then it'll slow up on you after a while.

.code was 1499, it says software update for trans and motor module. I am sure you are correct the adaptive transmission had been dummied thanks to LA TRAFFIC booooo. You will likely get this test and updated software if your car fails the test drive as mine did.

Well mine seems to have a whole different issue. in S-mode, it has a very noticeable jerk going from 1st to 2nd. I am hoping they'll fix that.
