I bought a 2006 CLS55 AMG last week and have begun to do some changes. The cars roof was painted black by the previous owner so I decided I would keep the black roof and add to it. I brought the car over to Art at Kronen tuning and told him of my ideas. Art took the car from me and ran with those ideas and so far here is where we are at. We started with the front + hood grills and painted them to match the roof. After that we had the black rear plastic bumper piece as well as the side markers painted the silver color of the car. Smoked the rear tails. Then added the Carlsson front lip and finishing with the Renntech lowering module. Art got me a great deal on a set of Carlsson rims (1/16 UL) but decided to keep the stock rims on for winter. Car goes back in 2 weeks for the Renntech larger crankshaft pulley,CF airbox, SS headers, Larger throttlebody, ECU upgrade, and Carlsson exhaust. I am very happy with the results and again need to thank Art for all of his help. Another great job by Kronen tuning! Here are some pics.

Thanks to all for the nice comments. I did consider the front lip painted black but wasnt sure if it would be too much. Originally was looking for white but when I saw the silver with the black roof I was sold. Heres some better pics of the roof and grill.

The roof is definitely a nice touch. The rear bumper being painted silver would not be my choice, especially since in the pics the paint definitely is not matching up right, but all in all nice look. Congrats on the ride and good luck with the engine mods.

 

I like it all accept the black mesh grill on top of the hood. Also clear markers are a nice touch, other then that great choices.

Yea I am not to sure about the hood grill either. But it was an experiment. When I bought the car that hood piece was broken. The dealership ordered me a new one which is the car color. I figured I would have the bodyshop fix the old one and paint it black just to see how it would turn out. No loss if I didnt like it.

I have had the clear marker lights before and prefer the painted. I like the look of the painted.

One thing I noticed is I should probably paint the mesh to match the grill and roof color black? I was checking it out yesterday from the front and the mesh black is dull and doesnt blend very well. Hmmm

 

I have the Carlsson 1/16 which are polished but my wife thinks these would look good...

 

those lowenharts are most likely heavy as hell. you can have the centers on the 1/16's painted black
