You have to have the break on hard, without rolling, gas it, then release, trust me you will have a faster launch once you get it down.

I don't think like that & the ones that think that they are faster than E55, E63's can actually drive, the others are just misinformed and deluded as the masses, they don't research, or know there opponents capabilities.

I don't think like that either. I love both my rides the same but in different ways. But one thing I do know is that my Viper is definitely faster then my
E63 (and 55's) and on an autocross circuit, c'mon not even a contest.

I agree w/ya 100%

My guess is most of these types a threads, get so overly questioned/heated because they tend to report them as if car "B" was driven to 100% of it's capabilities, I know this original poster didn't do that but a lot do, then you get the casual reader that misses the part "If Viper were properly driven, no contest" I myself have been guilty of this, it's easy to miss it...

I am certain that would be dependant on who is driving the other vehicle.

Definitely not a professional driver in the Viper. A Viper in the hands of a professional would surely beat a CLS63.

Agreed. But I think the point really is that when you go to the Dodge dealer, he'll sell you a car, and that car doesn't come with a professional driver. And I would think that even a great driver will slip from time to time and the CLS would find it's chance. All I know is the look of shock on the guys face. Funny thing is I didn't want to be an a'hole so I complimented him on his car. But in my dizzy state of self-congratulatory glee I said: "That's a really cute car". LOL, I never use that word and it just jumped out. It was funny cause the viper is supposed to be the ultimate muscle car, anything but cute.

heck , you could throw a professional driver into a maxima and he could take down the sixty three, point is dude driving on this day got spanked by a guy with a nice watch and a fast car. Why does every kill story on this forum lead to a senseless "under perfect conditions " "with a professional driver" "on an autocross circuit" , ANY CAR can lose to any car and on this day the sixty three sank the viper

A Maxima???..strange choice. But when you start a thread stating "Killed a certain car or another"..you have to expect you will get some responses. It should have been, "Got lucky against a Viper"...or "Had some fun with a Viper."

I rented a Viper GTS. I can completely understand how this could happen, it takes A LOT of practice to get a good launch in a viper. Even at 60 mph the back tires just want to spin. Not saying that is a bad thing though, thats the beauty of the Viper.

LOL , I picked a MAXIMA, because I saw it happen, guy driving it was INCREDIBLE. If you saw the race this morning with your own eyes what would you think? the viper driver sucked? Seems the linear power helps the cls and may actually make it a better vehicle especially with bad surfaces and cold rubber. Traction issues detail the car and must be solved by the driver if he is to attain maximum performance in either car

Nice kill. I will admit, even if he cant drive you still won and that was your advantage. Like someone else said here, with a good driver the Viper can run 11.7 or 11.8. Just takes LOTs of practice. The Viper use to be hard to drive when i first got it, now its seconed nature since i use it everyday. I think a Metro would smoke my Viper on some days when i cant launch though!

Well because IMO it is pointless to say that one has "killed" a car when that clearly isn't what happened. What happened is that the CLS63 driver "out-drove" or "out-skilled" the Viper driver. Big difference. A professional driver in a Maxima would get spanked by nearly anyone in a CLS63 because the Maxima doesn't have a prayer of even keeping up with a modestly driven CLS63, the Viper is the exact opposite.

I don't know about that man, The Viper is supposed to do 4 sec 0-60, I've done 4.1 many times, I don't know what the best is that people have pulled with the Viper, but if someone wants to go again I'm up for it.

Trust me in the right hands a Viper will beat a CLS63. Vipers have been clocked at anywhere from 3.6 to 3.9 secs 0-60. Don't get me wrong though, it would take a high level of skill on the Viper driver's part to do it because the CLS63 is no milk wagon. It all depends on who is driving.

My neighbor calls his G500 a "milk wagon" for what reason I've never been sure.

I ran dead even against a viper on i287 last year in my stock (at the time) CLK500, but....the driver was about 70 years old and had his wife in the car. He gave me a lol. But yeah, with the wrong driver anything can happen in a race.
