1) Compensation of about three months worth of payments and my old vehicle back, with a brand new transmission...and if anything goes wrong with that then they will take it back and negotiate the details with me of a new vehicle...or

2) a brand new vehicle, same specs, new lease, less usage, tax, tag, etc...about $5,000 out of my pocket.

What are your thoughts...???

Two pretty raw deals if you ask me.
Although it's more than I thought you were going to get.
Why not tell them what YOU want.

 

Ask for 9 months of payments and your old vehicle with new transmission.

 

If thats their first offer, that means they have more room. My dad's old CLK was a lemon, and three offers later, he got exactly what he wanted.

 

Tell them you want a night with Heidi Klum, and an SLR.

 

I like plan 1, how long has the car been in the shop?
If its been 3 months or so, I would ask for 4-5 months compensation.
If its been 4-6 weeks, I think 3 months is fair for compensation.

 

It has been in a total of 20 days or so...I really think that plan 1 is fair...I agreed to it late today...picking up my vehicle tomorrow, 10:30am along with the check.

Let's keep our fingers crossed.

GOod deal! But I would also ask for some mercedes store credit. Don;t they have some nice keychains?

 

I'd go the new one at no cost 2 you, or at least some free servicing or extended warranty etc
