CLS 63 & 55 Exhaust comparisons

My buddy brought over his 63 today, so I took some pics and did a little exhaust note comparisons... So lets vote what sounds better.

Also for all of the MODS freaks, can you name the differences in the two..

I'm not going to comment on the exhaust differences just yet....

But,

How on God's earth did you manage to get both cars together with a camera and not shoot any races?

On another note, does Airmatic self-level itself? I thought ABC only did that?

Cool

What is the knocking , rattle in the 55? Thanks for doing this, I think the 55 rumbles more at idle but the 63 sounds better when the pedal is pressed. IMO. The 63 is a spittin image of my car, same package and I think a bit less mileage. Both cars LOOK AMAZING. Wonder if your neighbors know how different the cars are. The 63 has the 030 package w/alancantra wheel, LSD, and the larger composite brakes. The 55 seems modded at the pipes and the wheel is an upgrade as well. Also the rims on the 55 are after market, forgive me I do not know what brand, they look s i k..Yeah do a vid of the acceleration right on that nice strret that seems so clear of vehicular traffic. If you guys wanna have a track day lets set it up that would be Incredible to get 4 black CLS AMG monsters together. There are at least that many here in so cal. Of course all colors are welcome. Back to the question. The 63 sounds better in motion and when pedal is depressed to me. The 55 sounds better just gurggling away at idle. I think the SC buries some of the exhaust note on the 55. MAN WHAT AN AWESOME set of photos. Can I come over today so we can get a 55 sandwich. LOL

In addition to what the above poster noted and what you have told me you have done to the ride to upgrade I believe you have done something to your car's intake/exhaust system... Your car sounds like a race car waiting for the light to turn green.. the 63 sounds like a beast as well but all stock.. I love the twins !!! Can i roll their little sister blk on blk 500 next to them? ha ha

Lol didn't have time for a race, we will soon.
If you referring the the 55 lowreing itself, its because of the Brabus lowering module, it stays low when driving, then if I open the doors without starting it raises up, then once started it lowers back down.

Not sure what your hearing on the knocking, the car was started cold, you do hear a little wine at first as well, which I believe is the SC. Also the 63 was started early and drive a few hundered yards to my house, so it wasn't a cold start. As far as mods at the exhaust, are you referring to the appearance part? I remvoed the black unpainted plastic piece, I bought another one and had it painted black, but after removing it, it looked fine without it so I left it off. Yea will have to do some runs to compare the two. Come on down to Fresno!!

To me it sounds like he gargling from the exhuast note. Trust me if it was knocking I would know, and it would be at the dealer.

Nice post kevin

Damn it kevin, Why did u have to post this? The only thing I dislike about my 63 is that it doesnt have that angry ferocious sound at start up. And u just reminded me, I gotta do something about my exhaust. Good post bro cant wait for the race comparison.
