Give them the challenge
Do the upgrade to a stock SL600 and prove their claim is nothing more than HOT AIR!!!!
Adam - since you are working with them, and selling their products, do you tell your clients the numbers will be less than advertised and give them a range. Example 625 hp plus or minus 100???
MY issue is not about MONEY it is about getting what I paid for, without excuses and finger pointing.

Stephen,
I do give my clients ranges +/-, nothing is 100%. So far, all my renntech clients are pleased with their renntech upgrades.
Also, I am deeply disappointed that your relationship with Renntech soured at such immense rate.
I will discuss your case tomorrow morning.

I hear you
I hear you, out of curiousity what would you have told me to expect?
plus or minus how much.
Interesting I just looked at their website and pdf file and see no mention of it, just claims that can't seem to be duplicated.
If you have a dyno graph that supports it please post. (Not theirs though)

SL 600
493 hp @ 5000 rpm; 590 lb-ft @ 1800 - 3500 rpm
__________________________________________________ _____________________
PACKAGE 1
RENNtech ECU and transmission computer upgrade** $6400
(top speed set to 300 km/h)
part No. 54_215_00_18
TOTAL HP 625 @ 5000 rpm
TOTAL TQ 745 @ 1800 - 3500 rpm
Base on Renntech website,
I will tell my clients to expect about 20% lower; also taking other factors such as weather, type of fuel, octane, etc.
I will have to try to obtain BlownV8's dyno. Let me see, if i can find it.

Mercedes
I have bought several Mercedes over the years and have had some issues with the cars, the one nice thing is they do stand behind their cars. On the SL600 I had a gas tank issue on the car, they did a repair and it still wasn't right, they contacted their Mercedes Rep who told them to put the car on a flatbed and get it over to the dealership (150 miles away from me) so he can look at it with them. I didn't want the extra treatment and drove it there myself, they corrected the problem and all is well.
Hartmut DOES NOT STAND BEHIND his product....
I could only imagine dealing with them on a warranty issue.
