amount of tint for black CLS?

I'm thinking of getting my windows tinted on my black (NOT obsidian, regular black) CLS55 030...what do you all think would look best? I'd normally say "darker is better", but some people think it might look too "urban" (that's what the dealer said ) if I go too dark. Suggestions?

On all of my black cars I do 35% all the way around and 50% on front windshield

First CLS has front tint, back does not..

Just did 35%. With the windows already tinted blue from the factory it looks fairly dark now. I have 35% on both of my trucks that are black and it looks lighter on them.

Kevin- I finally found a picture with the smoked tail lights to compare, what do u think looks better on a black cls? Red tail lights will show the car lines but smoked ones will give a stealth look......im 50/50 here

Well I'm partrial mine seen here on the left has a light tint just on the red area. I left the clear alone, it matches the clear on the front side markers as well as the clear on the mirrors. It's all personal taste, there is no right or wrong choices.

Kevin, how did you do the smoking? I can't find smoked replacement covers, and the shops near me all highly recommend against using film on the original plastic covers. But your car looks hot, I want mine smoked just like yours!

FormulaOne tinting?

Have you guys used the Formula One tint system? That's what the tinter I was referred to uses. It looks nice, but it's quite expensive compared to the last tint job I had done (which was almost 10 years ago and still looks perfect!). Is it worth the premium? Is there something else you all recommend?

I removed the tail lights and sent them to this guy http://www.smokedlamps.com/

He is basically a body shop, its just a laquer and a clear coat. I could have done it locally, but since he's experienced, he has the technique down. He can have them back to you in about a week.

Kevin- thanks for the pics buddy, I wanted to paint them from the inside, but now I think ill get them tinted........I will also leave the clear alone, although there’s no side markers for GCC version, but how can they do that for me? They have to cut it from the outside....it’s not like the US, they do know **** over here

Painting them on the inside is impossible, they just spray or tint the outside.
Yes if you wanted side markers they would have to cut the bumper on the outside. Then wiring the markers would be your next issue. These cars are very sensitive when it comes to wiring and lighting, so becareful.
