CLS55 - After Market Wheel Size Recommendation

Hi All,

Was wondering if someone can recommend the proper wheel and tire size for a CLS55? (That won't rub please)

I've got one person that says 20x11 in the rear and 20x9 in the front.

Another person tells me 20x10 in the rear and 20x8.5 in the front.

Can someone recommend the correct size and possibly post a picture with it?
Not sure if the 1+ inch above makes a difference; if so...how?

Thanks

either or, you can't go wrong... width is 1 determination and offset is the other... 20x10 in the rear, you can go with a slightly aggressive offset... where as with a 20x11, since the barrel and lip is physically wider, you might have to be conservative on the offset and go higher... front 20x9 is more than enough just make sure to offset clears those massive AMG calipers
im on 20x9 and 20x10 with special offsets for disk clearance

think you got it reversed.

jsyang, correct tire size for 20x9 and 20x11 are 285 front and 305 rear. here are some pictures in that configuration.

vb26,
Are those the 891 HRE's?
Looks very clean and sporty. Well done.

Have you got a picture from the side?

255 and 305 are nice tire sizes... i would put them on a 11 wide rear lip...i think above someone mentioned a 285 front... im sure that would look awesome but im guessing with lowering that is asking for a 3 point u-turn... i went for the conservative 245 and 285 with my aggressive drop

I would listen to this guy, that is best looking rim and tire setup I have seen in years, the offset is perfect, the width looks so beefy in the back, you nailed it with these rims & tires, looking at them makes me feel all tingley inside, great choice, they are the sh*t

The above sizes will be too sunken in. You need stronger offsets
(lower offsets).

That will never work!! You need more aggressive ( the lower the number the more aggressive, example a et30 will fit inside the body line and a et20 will be flush to body line or pushed out away from the car)
The size you listed above will not even reach the hub, it will hit your inner plastic fenders and even if it did it would look ridiculously to far tucked under the car.
Hope this helps..
FITMENT IS EVERYTHING!!

20x9 +30et and 20x10.5 +25et will get you sitting nicely within the fenders but more aggressively than stock

you could always play with www.willtheyfit.com to see for yourself.

Help from wheel experts. Will this setup below sit flush on my cls55 or will I need spacers? I'm not a fan of spacers of front but I don't mind running them in the rear. Also, what size tires would you recommend for this setup. Thanks.

Front: 20x8.5 +30 Semi Concave
Rear: 20x10.5 +32 Deep Concave
Bolt Pattern: 5x112

Also spin sonic, what offsets are on on your 20x9 and 20x11. It it sitting perfect? Thanks

So I pulled the trigger on the wheels mentioned above with the following specs

Front: 20x8.5 +30 Semi Concave
Rear: 20x10.5 +32 Deep Concave
Bolt Pattern: 5x112

I will run a 255/30/20 up front but am wondering if I should do 295/25/20 or 305/25/20 in back? I'd like to go 305 but just not certain if I will have any issues. I'm going with hankook v12's. Had good experience with them in the past. By the way, I'm lowered on a carlsson elm. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

I think you might need spacer for the rear wheel.
i have exactly same set up sitting in my garage 20x 8.5 10.5 and 255/30/20 295/25/20 tires. Purchased tires from onlinetires.com and krazytires.com Hankook v12s were the cheapest but they have a soft sidewall and from what read online its not a very good thing so i spend a liitle more and purchased Nittos and Federals
I am also lowered with Carlsson ELM

^^^thanks. Are your offsets the same? 30 front and 32 rear? I was thinking I would need small spacers ( maybe 8mm) for the front but the rears would be ok. I used this site as reference

305/25/20 is the right size. If you do rub a little bit (worst case scenario) you can do a mild fender roll and solve the problem.

Thanks all. I will go for the 305/25/20 in the rear and probably throw on some 8mm spacers up front and 5mm in back. I don't need it sitting completely flush but definitely want to close the gap a little. I'm not a fan of spacers in the front as I've had bad experience with steering wheel shimmy on euro cars. I don't want to have to roll fenders and hope the 305 are ok. Will know next week once I get them on. I'll post pics once they are on.

I know tirerack.com has 295 as ideal width for a 10.5 and I don't want to push it to 305 especially if my offsets are a little off
