Post terrible dyno numbers!! need help

hi guys, yesterday i dyno my car because i felt the car sluggish for a while. i have 23000 miles and it has ecu, pulleys, and green filter install in the car. anyways, i dyno the car 2 times 3rd gear run and a 4th gear run

these are the results:

3 rd gear

352.3 hp at 4740 rpm then lost power after that tq 459 at 2800 rpm then dropping

4 rd gear

367.3 hp at 4949 rpm then drops tq 453 at 2900 then starts to drops.

it was done on a dynomite dyno at sae corrected.

i think the problem is the i/c pump and perhaps plugs, and maybe the dealer reflash the ecu and erase the programming of the ecu.

any suggestions greatly appreciated

jaime

i'll scan the dyno sheets and posts them as well.

Check the filters - make sure they are clean and have not collapsed.

Go to an auto parts store and arm yourself with an OBDII scanner. Most are around $100 and will allow you to check and reset error codes and monitor important parameters, like Intake Air Temperature (IAT).

IAT will tell you if your intercooler pump is failing. This is the most common problem with 55 engines.

Good Luck!

thanks for the info. i took the car to the dealer, one of my friends knows the service advisor, and they are going to diagnose the car.

they told they think is the i/c pump.

UPDATED!!!

we got the car from the dealer and they said that was the oil pump of the transmission. i dyno the car again yesterday and power only went up to 370 whp, but what it ws weird that the car after 5500 rpm died. if you accelerated the car 1 st or 2 nd gear you hear the supercharged, but it is hard to tell in 4th because of the wind noise.

i got the old dyno, which is basically the same as the new one only with the exception of a gain of 18 whp, which i think it was because car was colder and better temp.

Still doesn't look right for 55k engine. But the 5500rpm drop is due to speed limiter.

Does your ecu upgrade include removing / increasing the limiter?

Maybe bad ECU tune, plus your dealer flashing the ECU could be messing things up. Goodluck

pajaroveloz: The low end TQ is about right. From the HP/TQ curve, looks like you have some kind of airflow restriction.

Look for bad air filters or clogged up cats/mufflers.

Good Luck!

did you ever resolve this problem? I took my car on the dyno today (dynojet) and only produced 368hp. very sad, if not pitiful. it sounds too close to yours so i'm seeing you ever found the problem.

This is a stock dyno'd CLS55. I would think you should be right at these numbers.

I think these cars need to be in dyno mode.

my car was in dyno mode. it currently has 26k km on it (18k miles) and has no lights on. actually I just had the head cover gasket replaced but nothing else is wrong on the car. any ideas on what to look at? (filters have been checked, and sinc emy car is german version there are no carbon filters to begin with)

4 wheels
Check the exhaust as Vadim suggested. the Carbon filters came on the 63 series cars.
