I call BS on the brakes. The 030 brakes are monsters while the M5 is hamstrung by being stuck with single pistons. Overall, I prefer the M5 but I don't buy that it has far superior brakes to an 030 AMG.

I have driven both cars and the CLS63 cant hang with the M5. There are numerous videos on the net as proof.
After 70MPH the M5/M6 is brutally fast.. I am surprised at the brake rating , I think the AMG brakes perform nearly equal to the BMW's.
IMHO, the 55 engine was MUCH better than the 63.

that sbecause the 63 is more similar to the M5 M6, thats why it sucks, LOL
I have beaten every M car I have ever raced by half second or better...
the 63 bashing is silly and baseless. The 030 brakes ar *** n INCREDIBLE

Juicee,
With all due respect, if your car can go 12.23 @ 116.50 let me know. That was bone stock. Otherwise I dont know how you beat ALL M cars. Not being a d@ck or anything.

and a great time!
The M cars in California , the E55's they never hit the numbers you guys do in Florida and New Jersey and Maryland. M5 here would have a difficult time with the 63 , did not really mean to suggest I would never lose. I respect the M5 and M6 alot. In my own personal experience I have yet to lose but that could certainly change Friday. I will be bringing an M5 out to the track on 11/30/2007. The last few we have had have not been able to beat the 63's , not at Fontana or Sacramento.. whats silly is the 335 beat me, but the M5 could not? 335 ran a 12.4 :-o
And I have never seen an M6 at the track...Apologies for suggesting I beat ALL M cars.. nope thats not the case.

That 12.23 will probably translate to 12.8 to 13.0 here in California on 91 octane + high DA + crappy weather. At least that was the case with every single E55 that ran with us in the last 3 events.

My Buddy had his M5 at the track the day I ran a 12.5 He had a few mods and ran 12.8 @115 so his trap was higher plus he spun 1st and 2nd. He was not STOCK!!! He had a full aftermarket exhuast and some ECU upgrade. I know without a doubt that top end he will pull any Stock CLS55 or CLS63. Maybe even some modded ones. Even when he was Stock he still would.

You have a CL65 and an M6 now. Fantastic garage. What are your early impressions of the M6, color and will it stay stock? Any plans to go StageII on your 65? Was it you that used to have the modded 996TT?

Early impressions are great for the 6 (Alpine White). The chassis response is amazing and the steering/brakes are awesome. Of course coming from an E55 with over 650 lb/ft of TQ and currently with a CL65 pushing 800+ TQ the 6 is a bit tame TQ wise.
You really have to drive the car but with that being said I love the sound of the Meisterschaft GT exhaust in the higher RPM range. Individuals who are more casual in their driving manner will not appreciate it as much but I am amazed at how it pulls from 120 and on. I have reached 189mph and am looking for a solid 200 mph run soon.
The M6 is more of a pre-meditated speeder- you have to plot your attack and then go but the rewards are great. The 65 is the unplanned version where you will be cruising and one simple mash and speed and thrust are crazy. I would rather go 200 in the M6 than in the 65 due to the stability and steering feel plus the brakes. I love driving the car in the high rpm range, the power is very real and strong plus the 7 speed SMG allows for some really impressive driving experiences.
I think I am done with the 65 with software updates at this time.
