Tires-->2fronts 2 rears

I need to replace the rear tires. Is it bad for the ride if I put 2 conti's on the rear to go along with the existing nittos in the front? My front nitto's are still new.

Although definately do-able, it is not generally a good idea having two different sets of tires with different tread patterns. You may experience certain vibrations and slip after the tires wear to a certain level

perfectly fine as long as one set is not worn out. I have totally different tires on my car fronts Bridgestone RE05A rear michelin pilot sport cups. ride is fine.

The rear tires are what wears out so keep the fronts and just replace rears until you need 4

+2

I've had Pirelli Pzero Rosso on the front and BFG KDW2 on the rear in my 350z, and didn't have any problems at all.

No worries. I have Pirelli Pzero's up front and Yoko asv100's in back. The main issue is equal tread depth and tire compound. Mine are both summer tires of equal tread depth, and compound. You might notice a difference in standing water or driving out of a pothole, etc.
