My first mercedes

Well, I finally did it. After almost half a year of debating, I replaced my old daily beater, and got a great deal on a Black Opal CLS55, with a RennTech package. I'm sure for many of us (and many more not on these forums), owning a mercedes is a major life goal Growing up, I was lucky enough to have the privilege of attending a private school, and always watched lustily at the other families driving their beautiful benzes each day (my family was more from the have-not's than the have's), and I'm thrilled to finally be in a position where I can afford this beautiful machine! So, enough of the reminiscing, I won't bore you guys with the details, since you all know how amazing it is to drive these cars, on to the pics!

And thanks to everyone who helped with my pre-buying questions on this forum!

Sick ride. Great color combo. That Lotus isn't half bad either.

Thanks! Hard to tell from the shots, but the Elise is totally modded out. Toybox47 forged wheels, blacked out taillights/side markers, 20% tint, HID's, McIntosh/Focal/Critical Mass stereo, and quilt-stitched black sensuede/piano black lacquer interior. I'm giving the CLS a cool-off period before I start modding it tho, except for the CLS63 paddles which I'm doing this week

Awesome, thanks, altho I'll be moving to San Jose soon (sad to be leaving Seattle, but thrilled about the sunnier weather).

I wonder if the E63 AMG I raced on 405 yesterday posts on this forum...? If so, that was a blast

Congrads. You are the owner of one of the best high performance luxury productions cars ever made especially with the Renntech upgrades.

It looks like you got the cf air box which it appears to be a stage 4 Renntech.. Does it have headers?

You are cranking out alot of hp and one of the few owners of a stage 4 modded car.

Looks absolutely amazing. I'm looking to get my first Benz in four or so years (CLS55 as well). I'm kind of a car noob, so what exactly did you get? I want mine to look exactly like yours, just with black interior. I really like the rims. I looked up RennTech, but how do you get that done?

I don't think it's a stage 4 actually, I think it's a stage 1 or 2 (based on what dealer told me), with the CF airbox purchased separately. It'd definitely be a pleasant surprise if I found out it was a stage 4 tho!

It's a CLS55 with P2 package and keyless go (and bi-xenons, don't remember if that's part of P2 or not). For mods (this car has color-matched painted wheels and I think a stage 1 or 2 renntech with CF airbox) you should find a shop around you that can do the work. I have a good relationship with one in my area actually (CarNutz, they did all the mods on my Lotus, plus their owner's CLS55, which is the sickest I've ever seen: http://www.carnutz.cc/showcase/06cls55.htm). Just look for really nice-looking modded cars (like at car shows, body shops, dealers, wherever) and find out who did the work

I'd say they were pretty evenly matched. Neither of us could break away from the other. I'd say the CLS has a bit more torque, which probably helps in getting a little headstart, but I think the E has a small advantage at higher speeds, not sure. I had it in S mode too, since I haven't learned the CLS's optimal shift points yet also.
