While in China I saw tons of cool cars buzzing around, in a 4 cyl kinda way. They were everywere but very few AMG's. Did see 2 in Macau at the Casinos.
Plenty of CLS and S cars in the cities.
Stopped in at the local MB dealer and he offered me a CLS63 for sticker at $230,512.82. So I said to him "does that include premium II package" ?
CLS 63 AMG / V8 / 6,209 cc / 514 H.P. HK$1,798,000
They also had C63's coming in for just $139,487.17
(HK$1,088,000.00)
SL63 wait listed and $267,692.30 (HK$2,088,000.00)
exchange rate is fixed at 7.80 to 1)

So what is the deal with these prices ?

I dont like the tail lights on the GTR, reminds me of the chevy cobalt.

It's not a luxury tax. I export cars to China. It's just heavy tariffs involved. You also have to buy a permit to drive the car (kind of like buying a license plate to drive the car). Each car needs it's own permit.

No way a brand new CLS63 for 70k, you must be kidding. MB's are rediculously priced in HK and when you buy a C class there in which you can get a nicely equipped E here, people still buy them, because it's a status quo. Gotta love the US.
