Anyone have a Baby Seat in their CLS?

Hi,

We're having a baby next month and now I have to get prepared to have a baby in our car. Since our other car here is a two seater, the baby will be riding in our CLS 55. Has anyone had experience installing a baby seat in the CLS? Since the back seats are reclined a little does it pose any problems? Any suggestions on baby seats would be very helpful as well~

Pictures would be great~

Thanks so much!

Your local MB dealer should carry the MB car seat...tiny bit expensive, but worth it IMO...congratulations on your new addition to the family.

thanks for the congrats. it's our first so we're pretty dm excited. since we live in korea it's pretty hard to get stuff from the dealer. in general, it takes roughly 3-4 weeks to order anything and they rarely have anything in stock other than keychains and t-shirts. this means we don't have the luxury of seeing what we're buying until we get it. that's why we would like to see what others have before we make the orders... anyhow, thanks again~

I had Britax when the seat was rear facing. Since you have to cinch the seat down, they definitely leave indentation marks. I would put a towel (or some product) inbetween your seat and the baby seat. Congratulations of your new addition!!

Britax, it fits but the passengers seat shoul be moved up a little and the carrying handle cannot be in full upright position when putting baby in car. Place the seat facing backward and use the metal adapter to make the shoulder harness function as a lap belt across the base of the seat. This keeps it secure. I put the handle up to protect the baby in case of a side airbag event. I will take some pics when I get a chance.

CONGRATS, just had our first 4/16/08

just a hair past 150. The baby seat is fine and actually works well in the CLS as the rear is perfect sized for young children. I will post up some pics on SAT

Infant seats should go ....

in the back pn the passenger side. The problem with use in front seat is harm to infant that can be caused if air bag deploys. I think rear facing is used for age up to one year and then infant seat gets turned around. There are pads thaat can be placed under/behind the infant seat to keep from damaging upholstery. Mercedes seat is good quality but very expensive.
Now days here, there has to be special seating until the child is several years old so try to get a seat that will migrate from infant to toddler to youth. Congratulations and keep the little one safe. You have a vehicle that is very crash-worthy so get a good seat. put it in properly and enjoy the ride!

thanks okc329. do you perhaps know off-hand where I can find the pads that can be placed under/behind the infant seat? that's one thing i'm worried about...

btw, took my cls55 today to 300km/h (185mph). what a rush! wish I had taken my video camera. my cousin brought out his m5, a friend in the new jag. xkr, another guy in a f355, one in a 997 c4s, and then a chrysler crossfire, and bmw 335ci. all the other cars topped out (limited) at around 155 cept the porsche and ferrari, but mine definitely kept up with those two~ love it love it. next week we're going again with some different cars... will be sure to take vids then~

Here's a protection pad ...

from a company called Safe Fit. Here in the States, my wife and daughter by stuff for our little grandson at a store called Babies-R-Us. A major manufacturer od such thins is Graco. Do you have any target, Costco or Wal-Mart stores there?
