Installed my renntech module.. a pic

Hi Guys,
Here in the Ireland its hard to find anyone supplying good parts for the CLS so i got a module with remote direct from Renntech, great service and very helpful. Anyway installed the kit myself over the weekend, took about 2.5hrs and well worth it.

is this the lowest possible position (2 lines in the height setting button) ?

can you set it to stay at stock height, for example when driving along a bad road?

Thanks! i know alot of you guys run 20's and I had looked into a set of 360 forged spec 5 but they were going to cost £5500 delivered with tyres. With the state of the road here i decided to get the 09 new AMG, £1500 from the dealer and i could used my old tyres! :-)

Quick question, What is the normal method to remove the chrome from the door handles? Do these inserts come out for painting?

i have the following settings,
0-20 mph 2" drop all round
20-60 mph 1" drop all round
above 60, 0.5 " drop all round
with the remote you can have it changed so easily to suit the road.

Is your car an '08 with the '09 grille. I bought an '09 grille but the bottom doesn't fit. Just curious how you made it fit without any major alteration. Nice ride by the way.

It is an '06 car. The grille is only attached by the top points, have had it on now for 6 months and is still secure.

can i ask exactly how does this work?

the car will be set to lower more and more as the vehicle speed increases? is this how it is with the stock suspension too?

can the module be set so that the ride height is the same no matter what speeds you are going?

so if i get the renntech module, i can have the car's height lowered and if in the case i want the car to go back to the stock ride height, i can just turn off the module and the car will go back to the stock ride height? can this be done even when driving? or must you be standing still. also will the car rise up when i press the air suspension button in the car when the module is turned on?

sorry for so many questions. i want to get a lowering module for my SL63 and because i am not the only one who will be driving the car, so being able to turn off the module in the car to return the car to stock ride height will be a bonus becuz not everyone in the family knows how to avoid scratching the bottom of the car... thanks so much for your help!

on the remote, when installed you select the manufacturer, MB of course, then model. If you car has the suspension speed limit option, then on the remote menu you will have the option the set the speed limits which allows you to set the speed at which the car rises half way and then fully. These can be ignored and the height kept the same at all time and then when turned off the car returns to factory (dont have to be stopped). Before you fire up the module, you go through a few install steps with the air suspension buttom, then when module is active this button works as normal, but with the module on it rises up from the module height so wont return to max factory, but may be enough for the other drivers. It a great system and the instructions are top class. Here to help.

so in other words, i can set the ride height at a constant level for all speeds. also when the module is on, the button in the car works as normal except it will rise up from the lowered height. lastly, i can also turn the module off and let the car go back to the factory ride height. correct?

this seems to be very very flexible and is exactly what i am looking for!

thanks!

There is alittle more bounce dropped 2" and because the module is installed when the car in set in airmatic 2 its always lowered when MB lowering kicks in.
PS, do you have any DIY to remove and install the new mirrors? got all I need from the dealer for £700. :-)

so if i set the car at 2" lower than factory height, when the vehicle speed goes above a certain speed, the MB lowering will still kick in? wouldnt that make it REALLY low then..??

don't understand what you mean ...
I was just wondering why you decided to have the care raising while speed increases instead of lowering as MB does ..

Mirrors: I didn't install myself, I only disassembled ..
but first thing is to remove the cover in the door to detach wires, then Tweeter housing , ...

if you ar ein doubt, show me a pic and maybe I can help.
better, ask the dealer to print installation instructions !
