How much is my cls55amg worth??

Hello, i currently own 2 Mercedes and a range. I plan on getting rid of my 2006 Merecdes Cls55amg. I am the second owner and it has 40600 miles on it. Car is in really good condition. It is silver with black interior ..... KBB says they should give me about 45k for it, is that what carmax will give me if i go there and sell it to them??

They will probably give you 37-38 max. 2006's with 25000 miles will go around 42-43k in the auctions.

KBB is worthless (IMHO). Take a look at the auction prices from a couple of months ago:

It looks like a CLS55 with 40k miles is in the $35k-38k range. Expect CarMax (or any other dealer) to try to pay you a few grand less then what they can turn around and sell the car at auction for.

Yea cars with 20kish miles are low 40's, your car is worth 35-36k with that amount of miles

To give u an idea, I was selling my similar mileage (16k miles) 2007 CLS63 for mid 50's and the 2006 55 is worth min 10k less...That low mileage of a car(your 2006 CLS55) probably wholesales for 44k though I'll bet...mid 20k miles go low 40's so....

I think the real answer is this:

You don't want to know what it is worth. I mean really, looking at the economy, market, buyers, and about a years stock of cars held up. It all adds up to devastation on resell value and us looking like: when you get the offer. That low 30's-mid is about right, as you can get low mile 55's in the low-mid 40's now.

This is the worst time to sell, especially to any dealer. Now on buying, on it's gravy. Mercedes South Atlanta offered a new 09 CLS with trade-in at 1% financing and an allotment toward the new car, which I did not answer. Good deal in some respects, but I don't want anything new now.
