*****Bone stock CLS55 with MBH Longtube headers Dyno Inside*****

People have been wondering what My long tube headers make for power on a stock 55k AMG. The wait is over. After begging my brother to let me use his car to fit and test a set of MBH/Dyno-Comp Long Tube headers. The results are in!

My brothers CLS55 (hoolamoster, yes he is my brother) runs quite rich from the factory at 10:1 AFR after being fitted with MBH headers and cat test pipes. Secondary cats still intact. the car consistently laid down about 50whp and 45wtq more than his stock baseline. The AFR leaned out to about 10.5:1. Still rich, But I guess that what MBZ factory gave him.

I feel very confident if my headers and test pipes dont make at least 40+whp. send them back for a full refund.

Here is the dyno chart and a quick video, more for sound than anything.

That exhaust note sounds incredible, almost as incredible as the gains.

On a modded E55 my headers made 50whp over the renntech headers it had on it before.

When I was talkign with my brother yesterday morning He asked "How much power do I think they will make?" I said, "About 30whp." When dynoing came around. and the first run was in progress. I watched that 30whp mark come and go. Being a fan of all things power. I was like "Holy crap." Not only did it blow my expectations away. It was able to repeat the same power gains run after run.

This is why I feel so confident now to offer a 100% money back garentee if you dont make 40 or more whp over the stock manifolds.

When I first set out to make headers I was very spacific about wanting top end power. You can search my past post were i state this. After some ajustments a bit of trial and error.. We are there.

These cars have all the torque in the wolrd, I felt from racing we needed more power up top. These cars always seem to cross the traps at the top of 3rd gear. So why not make a header that can get you to big peak power as you cross the line.

Needless to say I'm very excited about being able to offer fellow HP junkies something that does what it is saposed to do.

Awesome work!!! I'd be all over this offer if I had an 55k. Would you be able to make a custom set for my car to mate with 3" exhaust?

Is that otherwise bone stock? Or did you have to do an ecu tuning?

Very Nice! This is why I've always said that if I ever decide to mod my car I will address the exhaust 1st. You add hp without touching the engine. On average a pulley and tune would get you about 50hp &50ftlb's with added heat. I know that these headers are expensive but I believe/know that they are worth every penny. Hmmm 125mph traps with a stock engine and exhaust mods only????

No tune on my car, this is bolt on and go... The power gains are as impressive on the chart as well as on the pavement! So much more pull in 3rd its like 1st through 3rd is one gear ; D

Question... with the elimination of the primary cats, how will the car fare when it comes to an annual state inspection? I know from previous experience with vehicles with "test pipes" (removed cats) and even those just running the secondary cats (primaries removed), passing a state inspection was near impossible...

Are these headers "street legal" or are they being marketed as a "race only" modification?

OBD2 cars should be ok as long as the check engine light is not on. At least thats the case here in MD. I would also entertain having a midpipe done with either slip fit or vband high-flow cats that can be replaced with test pipes. This way all you have to do is drop the cats in every 2 years when the car goes through emissions.

They would pass emissions if the cats are in place. other than that they would fail miserably with the "test pipes" in. So yes they are a "race only". They can easyly be converted to pass inspection. pendin on how your State does it.

As for some other questions. This is the only mod on this car. No ECU tune or anything. Surprisingly he has not gotten a CEL for emissions yet from running "Test Pipes" and no software to turn the back o2 sensors off.

Before headers dyno indicates about 411 HP. Sounds somewhat high over over a typical 55 which dynos at approximately 385 HP or so.

I don't think the delete of the primary cats yields 25 HP.

What's up?

My car dyno'd very high stock, we thought there may have been software on the car. However, we checked it and it was the factory MB file. Its just a strong car... and the funny story is everyone said this car will put down 380 and when it went well above and beyond that we where all blown away ; D
