Anyone drive their AMG in the snow??
When in doubt - leave her home, same goes for your car...

I live in Toronto and use my CL55 as my DD no matter the weather. Tires are very important! I hate winter tires!

I see all the salt on front bumper, but I know that wasn't in Redondo Beach....
As far as driving the cars - they are JUST cars. Why the hell WOULDN'T you drive your car if you like it? I used to drive mine all the time in snow, and would do so again. I also really like my car, care about it, keep it clean and maintained, and value my automobile (as much as one can, because again - it is just a car.)
For the uninformed, it snows in Germany. These cars are driven there. Tires are key though.
These RWD AMG cars go great in the snow, with the right tires (you may be surprised.)
And for those that say they don't want their precious car rusting away, the quality of craftsmanship is much better now than it was in the past. And realistically, if something were to happen, it is still "only" a Mercedes.
And trust me, I get upset when my car gets a rock chip, cracked windshield, etc.
We aren't talking about Phantoms, Veyrons, and Murcielagos here. Sorry guys but this isn't the most expensive, desirable, brand out there - but it is truly my favorite. I would choose the drivability over Lambo/Ferrari everyday.
The only thing to be concerned about, like mentioned above, is other drivers running into you. Especially "invincible" ones in 4WDs.
Exercise care and caution and it's no big deal.

SL65 with Winter tires was quite capable even in a bad snowstorm and very "entertaining" at the same time.
Would AWD be nice? Absolutely, the performance capability of this car is absolutely wasted in the snow but I've never been close to getting stuck.

CLS + snow + mountains at midnight is not fun!
Ran Blizzaks on my 2007 and 2010 SClass 4-Matic in the past, and it was "OK". Live in Denver. You can NOT drive it nutty, I don't care who you are or how many years you think you have "snow driving" prowess. Thing is a sled, and the tires are just too wide. But, Blizzaks definitely help a LOT, and night and day over running the summer Conti's.
But now with the 518hp AMG, and the varied tire size from front to back (285/30 vs 255/35), I can't even find the larger size in Blizzak. I have a nice truck I drive on the few days there is snow on the ground here in Denver, but occasionally you get caught! Looks nice, and then WHAM! I prefer to run winter tires even if I hardly drive from Nov-Mar. Would love some advice from someone on going either full snow, or just a nice proven All-Season? Appreciate your help gentlemen!!
