I sure hope so. But as always I know one thing is for sure - my reign on top will be short. Once one does - then everybody does it. Records are only there to be broken. I only hope I will be the one to break yours - and cant wait for the day someone beats mine. Just hoping my build wont be a disappointer...

You will definitely need a really good drag tire/wheel combo to get the best time out of your beast. I don't know if there are any MB's in the 10's on street tires.
Again, congrats on your build and can't wait to see your results.

btw nice panerai! i wear one as well. hehe
you would only be limiting yourself if u dont get a drag tire setup. even if u get a really good time on street tires, u can improve much more by having drag tires on the car. makes a world of difference. if u lived closer id just lend u mine!

the best thing would be to have a full lightweight set but i think most people (myself included) just change the rears. im using lightweight 18" kosei rims on mickey thompson DRs right now. the faster guys are now using a 16" setup on hoosiers. im also looking for a set of those right now.

Out Of Control!!
Great project!
Good luck at the track. You're going to need mickeys or hoosiers. A ride in Pats car must have been a real treat.

05 ML-500 , 03 CLK5.5 AMG has left the Garage
Beauphus's Rebuild
The intention of the GT was to show Beauhus, that the cams were a positive benefit to his rebuild project. In My CLK 55 AMG ,the idle quality at 600 rpm in gear & low speed traffic driving was more than acceptable. And there was no loss of low speed torque, even in 3rd gear with a slight throttle input. Our drive was down a side road next to the industrial complex , I ease into the throttle & we were picking up road speed pretty good. THEN I Heard WATCHOUT!! Speed hump. OH sh!!T
I hit the hump but no contact Whoop pee
All The suspension mods I did, worked ! , The car was very compliant, never got out of shape. Way Kool
. We found a road with out speed bumps.I did 2 runs in a straight line in 2nd gear , from 2000 rpm too 6800 rpm The motor never layed down . On the return trip between the speed Humps. The trans was in 3rd gear about 35 - 40 MPh , I dumped the throttle hard . The trans back shifted down to 1st , I had a hand full of left steering wheel input . It upshifted at 6800 rpm ,Then an other hand full of right steering input ![drive](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/driving.gif)
I want to give Beauphus many thanks for the early warning OOH Sh!!t speed hump . He helped Save me from some possible repairs![bow](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/bowdown.gif)
His car sounds great.
And has that increatible PTE cam blower whine. Nice rebuild Beauphus, You got everything to be proud
