I was thinking that also. Might be a good reason to hold onto these cars, but I don't know if these numbers are correct.

Must be combo of 2005 & 2006. My build date was 2005

 

Still not sure if these are sales or production numbers. Hard to verify.

Looks like ALL CLS class sales (550 and AMG) were

2007: 7906

2008: 5775

from emercedesbenz.com.

I guess not too much of a stretch that about 10% or so, would be AMG.

Also, from the same site:

AMG worldwide sales (all models) 2007 were 20,300 and 2008 24,200.

38% of the AMG market is the US in 2008 (9196 vehicles). C63 is the highest volume 8100 sales worldwide and was considered the most sucessfull AMG vehicle of all time.

 

The production numbers can be found in the AMG private lounge. They only post them a year later because they wait for the dealers to clear the inventory, hence production numbers.

2009 isn't out yet, should be out in May 2010.
