I am even more disappointed
I knew I wasn't going to like the CLS because it didn't change too much for the next generation, but I think I was wrong. I think they absolutely ruined a stunning car. I am 90% sure I am going to leave AMG with my issue with my current 63 and the way the new one looks. There is a 10% chance I would give the E63 a chance.

yea,
I've already commented a couple of times over in that thread. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that even if we were all sitting in the next gen CLS at the stoplight we would get the same amount of over the top attention we get now but...... I just don't care for the BIG grill front end and the S Class treatment to the rear quarters.
Does everyone remember when that BMW designer got crucified when he designed the 2002 750il ??? The rear tail lamps and trunk design looked hideous! Anyway, it has taken me quite a few years but i like it now. Maybe because they went in the same direction with the 5.
I guess like everything else, time will tell.

Did everybody see the rumored CLS at the Detroit auto show. They had a cloth piece that covered the car showing the flowing lines and the design direction. That was dubbed the next CLS. If you look at that shape and the front grill, plus you look at the spy pictures before, they all have the same shape and the front is exactly alike. Now you take the spy pictures with the camaflouge and the front lower grill looks exactly like the concept and exactly like the new concept car. I would be 5K dollars, the one show here is pretty close to the actual new CLS. Just like at the front lower grill, all the pictures show a weird kinda like grin to it. All the backs have the same truck shape. I think this is it.

If you look at it straight on and straight from the back, it doesn't look as bad as if you look at in at a 45% angle. The 45% angle of the front shows how verticle the snout is. I just saw on another web site that is in the CLS preview.

I'm with you guys on this one--not an appealing style for me either. It's got kind of a Hyundai-BMW Z4 thing going on and they abruptly ended the trunk lines kind of like BMW did with the older 3 series Ti.
