old but new to me CLS55 :)

1 month searching+1 week negotiating+1 week delay for a last minute business trip+1 week cross country transit from PA to CA...I finally took delivery yesterday!

just wanted to thanks for forum for answering questions I had...awesome pool of resources we have here!

without further adieu

old but new to me 2006 CLS55 (excuse iPhone photos)

i used a transport agency which i've had good luck with in the past: Angels Moving Autos. They hired a company called PBC express to handle my job.

driver was a few hours late picking up the car but the car got to me almost 1 day early...nothing to complain about. there were a couple interesting cars in the enclosed trailer which needed to be moved before the CLS could back out. the driver was cool and let me take photos and peak in/around the cars (carefully)

the trailermates:
- disney's Herbie (sp?)
- some insane hot rod

Herbie

signed by matt and lindsey

the rod

makes this under carriage not so interesting...

here we go!

covered in arizona desert but made it here

no, i can't keep anything stock for more than 30minutes, lol. lowered with the pre-installed ELM, added SLS style front grill, and aftermarket "mario" AMG badge

and that's it for now. will be painting the clear marker body color, vinyl wrapping the chrome window trip to black, painting the side and rear badging black, and new wheels coming in 3 weeks

thanks, and glad to be a part of the club and really enjoying the car!

still own my 2 e30 and e46 m3's and they're gonna be with me for a while. i'll likely be unloading the 1.8T big turbo A4 avant and will start looking for a clean e36 ltw to make my m3 collection complete...not a fan of the e90/e92 yet but that may change. twin turbo (or speculated tri-charge) f20 m3 sounds interesting but i'm not digging the new front facia.

Its needs to be pulled up. I tried and can't do it but the dealership said they would do it while I waited.

thanks guys! loving everything about the car (well, except for the 13mpg average but i'll live with it)

as for the flat hood emblem, i used a microfiber cloth to protect the paint and and thin flat heat screw driver and just worked slowly/carefully prying. mine just popped right out

if you drive in Comfort mode, you should see 18-19mpg. at least i do. but who wants to drive in Comfort? the biggest difference i've noticed is it seems to start in second gear from a stop.

The 1 fin front grill is availabe on ebay less than $200.

Great car. Don't forget to change out the fluids-its time now; p/s, brake, coolant, transmission.
Check the battery water level too (trunk and hood)

i had always throught C stood for cold (or cold in german). anyways, i'll keep that in mind if gas gets to be $6/gallon
