I actually had the supercharger polished. My mechanic and I took it apart in three sections, polished it, then put it back together.

The car has 42K miles, but the new motor had approx 50K miles. I drive it once a week, on the weekend mostly. It's currently in the shop getting its 3rd audio set up.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Thanks man! Just upgrading from two 10's to two 12's. Getting rid of the amp rack to gain lost space in my trunk, and mounting all of my amps in the arm rest port. New speaker box will be firing subs up through the OEM subwoofer location, where we cut out most of the metal through that rear deck area. Bass will hopefully be directed onto the rear glass then into car.
Here is a quick pic of where I mounted the amps:

I love all AMG models, but having an AMG motor installed was not my intention. I honestly took that route after being disappointed by the results from a Kleemann SC system. The car was built to compete on a very competitive show car circuit, where the cars that we have are the underdogs. People expect to see our cars with OEM performance at these events. Building this 500 with a motor conversion definitely evened out the odds, and I managed to pull off a few best of shows at events where no Mercedes ever did.
After getting my hands dirty under the hood, an OEM AMG is worth it
a few quick Q's though, where/how did you get those carbon headlights? and how did you get the carbon emblem done?
also, that interior is wack! (in a good way
is it custom?

that can be challenging sometimes....
you must have some good skills and know people you trust to work on your car....
what do you think is your favorite thing/attribute about the car?

The headlights were taken apart and the inner bezel was wrapped in carbon. Emblem was also wrapped in carbon. Custom job from IGT Automotive.

My motor conversion was done in my personal garage, which happens to be my favorite mod! We jumped head first into that project and had the car running in two weeks after completing.
I was happy to run at 12.9 in the 1/4 mile without any mods to that motor.

I just learned that Weistec is modifying 7 speed transmissions. If they can modify mine to handle more abuse I will be happy to take things to another level.

These digital amps are designed to work in tight areas. Notice that I have 4 in the picture, but only 3 on display in the pics above. The 4th amp was mounted behind panels with no air and never malfunctioned. I didn't do any custom cooling. I'm thinking that being exposed to the cabin vs being isolated in the rear trunk, should offer more cooling to them. Especially from AC, and air traveling through the car when the windows are down.
