recently purchased CLS 55 AMG
Hey guys,
I just bought a CLS 55 with 39k miles last week and im really excited about it. However, the original owner didnt get the zenon package. I was wondering what i can do to upgrade the headlights that wouldnt be expensive but still look classy. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks...

so basically there isnt a relatively inexpensive way to make the lights not look so dated. I looked into bi-xenons and those are a couple of grand, does that sound right? What do the 3000k HID fogs look like on your 06 55. Please send a picture, if you got one.

In 2006 the bi xenon was an option, i also have halogens on my 2006 cls55. I bought an hid from a forum sponsor on here tspny... i was planning to get it installed cuz i cant stand the halogens on this car. Are yiu saying an hid kit wont work with this headlight? I was told the hid kit would work.

HID kit will work but the lighting compared to bi-xenon won't be good. The light will "bounce" around a lot when driving. It is like spackling make up on Kim Kardashian, it looks good but still damaged goods and useless.

You would have to also get a kit that is CANBUS compatible.

The HID kit is just a low-cost option, as djrabbi is saying. Probably not the best solution, but seems cost effective for $100 + install. I think that the install may cost you a bit though since these CLS headlights are notoriously difficult to remove based on my experience.
