Alright so picked up a 06 cls55 52000 miles, capri blue, java leather, paid $31000 out the door.Clean carfax, seems to have had some service done up to 33k , water pump, front and rear shocks replaced at around 20k in 08, 26k fuel sending unit, replaced, alignment at dealer, ecu reprogram, , at 42k four wheel alignment, steering suspensions checked at a mom n pop shop.

alright first impressions of car..... wow... what a rocket.... been driving bmws for 20 years and its my first merc... drove a e60 m5 before this 55 and i cant believe how much more car the 55 is.

Anyways back to my questions. getting a service E 185 days passed service notification, wondering what this entitles.

front pads have been done, already thank god, rears are at about 25%.

Need a navigation DVD whats the cheapest solution? is there a download i can burn to dvd or a copy i can buy online? also any firmware updates for the vehicle?

car has no hids so i want to add them, they are h7 bulbs correct? what are the fog lights bbulbs?

been reading that the trans fluid should be changed at 39k i dont know if its been done and know its a pita to do but am very mechanically inclined, and would like to do as much work to the car as i can. is there any diy write ups on fluid changes, things to check, etc?

is there a drop in K&N filter for this car? basically any tips you guys can give me on my new purchase would be great, my first car that ive spent this much money on and would love to keep it reliable.

Just bought my CLS55 AMG and I can address two questions.

NAVTEQ I believe, offers a new NAV DVD for you directly. Google them.

K&N does offer drop in filters and are easy to change. I got mine from Amazon. Com but there may be a vendor here that offers them as well.

Other stuff? I dunno man. :^>

41 bucks seems very reasonable but is 2008 the best we can do? Are there newer versions offered that will work in our cars?

i guess there is , but i did a quick search and saw that 2008 was the last revision believe the thread was from 2011 though so who knows. i just want to see if the gps antenna is even good in the car.

I ejected mine and it is indeed a 2012 disc so they go at least that far.

I too, would like to see Capri Blue with Java. Sounds nice.

Just found this. It might work on our cars. You may want to verify with a Dealership first.
