Airmatic Suspension - Is there any way to park & relieve pressure??

Understand the Airmatic Suspension is under constant pressure. Weather it's parked or on the road. Mine is 10 years old now, except for the right front strut. Is there any way to relieve that pressure at night when it's parked? I hear air escape when I drive long enough and bring it home to park. Does that take the pressure off the system. Tech at MB says it is always under pressure. True?

Thought might give me a little more time before I have to sell a kidney to get another strut replaced ...

$1400.00 at MB. Getting brakes replaced and oil drain plugs replace and oil change as well. Might as well take the hit all at once ...

Changing the rotors too?
Let me know how much your full service cost afterwards(getting my 2009 cls63 amg next month so I wanna prepare my self for the heart attack )

Oh and I have this stupid unprofessional question if you don't mind me asking;how does the 8 piston brakes on the 55 perform compared with 6 pistons on 63????better?much better?worse?

Cuz I got depressed for a week when I found out the cls63 doesn't get the super awesome 8 pistons

Take a look at the common maintenance and replacement parts sticky thread on the w211 forum. A lot of that stuff you should just do for piece of mind, like the crank position sensor. It will fail eventually and leave you stranded. If you take it to the dealer for everything, it would cost more than the car is worth. You now have 1 new and 3 ten year old air shocks. It's only a matter of time, and for the price of 2 you could have Arnotts all the way around, and maybe a new pump too. It would benefit you greatly to find a good mechanic so you can enjoy that beautiful car instead of worrying about it. It's not common, but it makes sense. There is no practical way to bleed the pressure when parked.

The whole enchilada was $3284.00 ... trying to sell my Star Diagnostic System (which i never used) for $750 OBO to offset the costs that I know are coming. I don't mind, hell I'm 76 years old and I lubs my Mercedes CLS55 AMG. Brakes are much better now, stops on dime gives 9 cents change. Yes I got the whole brake job ...
cheers....

Looked into the Arnott replacement coilers, and decided to go with OEM parts. I know it will cost me a bundle but I drive very little. Just to Walmart for groceries. So even though this front strut went overnight in my garage, I do not love worrying about where the next one will fail. I could really do without air suspension, especially one that rots like vegetables. This is the first time in 65 years that i have ever had any kind of suspension problem in any care I ever owned... Such is the risk I voluntarily took buying a 10 year old screamer. ...

Didn't think about the crank position sensor. What's the damage to replace one of those. And what is the indication it took a dump?

Bosch 0261210170 Crank Position Sensor (CPS) - $34 Takes about 5 minutes to put in if you tape the socket to the extension and put contact cement in the socket so you don't drop the bolt. Probably $400 at the dealer. Unless they break the bottom clip on the Y pipe taking the intake off to get more room to look at it. Symptoms are car dies without warning. Sometimes it will restart when it cools off.
