First shakedown went good, thermostat is doing its job and was keeping an eye out on the temps using the Autel. Im letting the engine cool off and will check the coolant level tonight.

Even though I already replaced the AUX battery with Exide, I opted to change it back to a Varta AUX14. I got some random things like "Battery convenience functions disabled" , which I believe might be linked to the AUX battery. When I measured the voltage, it also showed a dip (?). I will post that video later.
I took the liberty to create a POV video of the process, which is pretty straightforward. I included 2 failure moments which are pretty common (letting a tool slip out of your hand and dropping a nut/bolt into the abyss )

Replaced the rubber isolators and springs for the Airmatic compressor with new ones (aftermarket). The old ones are probably the original ones (18 years old)

Also swapped out the EVAP canister (preventative maintenance). Had some trouble finding it, but it seems I needed to take the arch liner off completely. It's on the passenger side, above the muffler, right next to the fill neck of the fuel tank. It vents from the top, the white cap is partially open

Swapped out the voltage regulator yesterday evening, took me longer than expected (about 2 hours). Glad I bought some extra inverted torx sockets a little while ago, else I wouldnt have succeeded yesterday. I connected the battery today and let it idle. Happy to ssee (and say) its charging again at 14.2v instead of 13.8v! I think this will solve my issue
Paid 30 euros for the new regulator
New vs old
Difference in prongs
Partnr on the protective cap
I created some videos, will also make a small howto. But hopefully this will help the next one
This is the amount of space between the steering rack and the big ARB on the W219 chassis

Removed the neo chrome dress up bolts, as they arent as practical as normal bolts. Use a power tool a couple of times and the insides will be round...Replaced them with stainless bolts again

And was able to remove the sticky rubber coating from the headlight switch cover and used that instead of the Aliexpress aftermarket option which doesnt fit that well.
Left OE without rubber coating, right aftermarket

Went to the "Schone Sterne" Mercedes meeting in Hattingen (Germany) yesterday. @UncleBenz55 notified me last year, but unfortunately he could not join this year. I teamed up with another CLS55 and a CLS500. The location is awesome, its hosted on around an old steel factory in a valley.
More info: https://www.mercedes-fans.de/magazin...language.19555
Funny thing to mention is that there is way more appreciation for the older stuff compared to the newer Mercs. The amount of 560SEC, older SLs, 190E we have seen was amazing. In comparison, I only saw 4 CLS on the terrain, 1 A45s & 1 CLS45s. Also a couple of W211 E55 (from Moscow Supercharge), some people from Malaysia (!) Ukraine & Norway. Stern Garage was there etc etc. Unfortunately we could not park on the grounds, but needed to park outside of the location. Better luck next year
Met up with the other 2 CLS near the venue. Silver is a CLS55, black = CLS500
There was a big queue for entering the location, we decided to join in...
After an hour, we were almost in
The other CLS55 sits on Rohana wheels, they look awesome. I immediately want to lower my CLS again haha
I love this shot
A couple meters ahead after some more waiting...
What a location!
I have a lot more pictures, but I need some time for postprocessing. Will post the album link in my thread later

There was a number of things to eat off course, the German classics like a sandwich with sausage "Bratwurst", but I only got some fries with mayonaise aka "Pommes mit mayo"

Some more pics from my CLS at the Schone Sterne meet. Is there interest to see all the pics? Any idea what the best place is to post them?
