Question Location EVAP Canister on CLS55?

Who can tell me the location of the EVAP charcoal canister in a CLS55? I found this thread with 2 pictures, but I cannot seem to locate it

Passenger side rear. Pull fender liner. Cannister removes by whacking it upwards. The sheet metal shield is very, very sharp so do not use the heel of your hand. Do not ask me how I learned that lesson.

Here's the post I made on the replacement a couple of years ago.

Mine was on the left side rear behind the fender liner. For me the left side is the passengers side because I drive a LHD car. I posted pictures of it in my thread.

Just got out of the garage, I was able to swap it! Apparently I needed to remove the complete archliner indeed. I only checked the lower part yesterday and the muffler was behind it. I made some videos, so I can create a how-to for the next guy/girl who will tackle this jobbo

Old & new, seems we have a different type of EVAP canister here in EU

It vents from the top, the white cap is partially open

Does the EU version have a solenoid controlled air valve as in the US Model? Perhaps a remote valve?

That's the exact same type that I have on my 2005 E55 Wagon.

I have no idea to be honest. I only know about the solenoid/valve near the drivers side headlight. Its connected with a hardpipe to the rear of the supercharger snout.

It's a valve with a plug and potentially a harness adaptor that sits at the top. I'm guessing not based on the pics. The one I have on my car and the cars I've seen in the junkyard is different... Unsure if there's a difference for CLS specifically, or based on sales region.

One thing I've noticed as I'm trying to refresh and refit my car is that there are a LOT of options on these cars and MANY different configurations, even among the same model year and trim.

Indeed, this canister is very basic, 2 in/outlets and a vent port on top.

My best guess is sales region at this point
