I have seen them before but havent been able to find a European seller. I found one on eBay which is $100 + $50 shipping.

That is not a bad price. Eight years ago I paid $116 USD for mine. Accounting for inflation and shipping, $150 sounds reasonable. And below are two examples of clutch failure...

Ok I've just ordered it. Paid $163 in total, which is cheaper than repairing damage once it explodes

Seems I was running into issues with the new injectors? Cold start was horrible and it was running very rich, so I decided to put back the old injectors (after servicing them first)

All injectors serviced, new rubber rings, new retainer ring and new filter baskets

All old injectors back in the fuel rail

After fitting them, all problems were solved again...

Also replaced the gaskets of the oil filter housing. I needed to buy the 46mm socket to remove the big hollow bolt

The new socket and oil filter key

Elring gaskets

Oil filter out and insides cleaned

Gasket was hard as a rock off course

Sticky sand etc

Dirt & debris

Remove the 4x T30 torx bolts to separate the 2 halves

Another 2 hard gaskets

More dirt & debris

Cleaning with an old toothbrush and some brake cleaner works very well

Some spring loaded action behind the small plate

I replaced the rubber O-ring as well

And as usual, it leaked a bit after. So I will replace the bottom seal with an original MB gasket. Thankfully, that seal isnt that expensive

Ok, guilty as charged.
So what did you use to clean, more importantly polish?
Also beautiful neighborhood, I love the Netherlands.

As requested by @MB Moneypit !
  • Wash it first (normal car shampoo)
  • General degreaser to get the soot/carbon deposits of as much as possible
  • Scotch brite pads in combination with metal polish, used the most coarse pad only on the hardest to clean areas >
    Amazon Amazon
  • Metal polish with polishing cones as last step > https://www.amazon.nl/BESPORTBLE-Pol...dp/B097H72FZZ/
I received the tip that the Mothers metal polish is top notch stuff, so I will be getting that in the future. I bought some other brand

Mothers:
Amazon Amazon

I only need to wipe off the tips from time to time at this stage

Bought an engine hoist to swap the engine mounts (again). I put in Meyle engine mounts, but after hearing about them on M539 Restorations, I decided to swap them out with Lemforder. The difference is definitely there, Lemforder gives a much smoother experience.

Work in progress

And I stumbled on a small issue, I could not get the bolt in the drivers side mount. The notch did not line up perfectly. Some small adjustment was needed.

Inspected the F32 Pre-fuse block, as I still had some issues with the CLS switching off convenience functions. I did not know you need to loosen a nut under the car to get it out. So I only cleaned the connections, did the same for the negative mass point right next to it

Also decided to use the heat reflective tape on the top of the airboxes as a small supporting mod. Work in progress:

Also fitted the Gates HD green belt, will compare it to the Gates RPM belt. See if the Gates RPM makes a little bit more boost

All done

Thanks again for the reminder @bbirdwell! I got the scatter shield installed, a little bit of insurance for the supercharger pulley

For the uninitiated:
https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/...ed-my-car.html
https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/...er-pulley.html

Sits fairly close to the pulley, but no issues whatsoever

When I replaced the fuel dampener, I also replaced the MAP sensor. Quite a fiddly process as there isn't much room. My tip: rent a midget or someone with small hands, as the right bolt has ample room to remove it.

LED license plate light broke down again, so I went back to festoon leds. I found these from maxgtrs which has flexible ends. The red ones are cree leds, which I had lying around

These went straight to the bin

How much of a drain do you have?
