Hello

I just recently got a cls 55 amg (c219) , there is a strange tube (check attached photo) , could anyone tell what is tube and what used for ,
This tube is sucking air and once closed (using a finger) the car engine shut down.

Its for the EVAP system. It connects to a solenoid which sits behind the headlight. The other end of the tube sticks into the back of the supercharger in a rubber grommet.

Thanks you i found it just hanging under the head light , i found the solenoid plugged from one side with some wire cable i removed it and connected to the system ,

Nothing changed in the car , do this solenoid do nothing or it is always open ?

The other part of the solenoid goes to the gas tank if I am not mistaken. Both sides should be connected. See below, other engine, but same purge valve

thanks for reply , the question what it is for?.
It was left unplugged , I didn't notice anythings wrong with the engine, so the solenoid is usually in open position (since if i close this tube the engine shut down) , it was interesting when this solenoid closes and for what?

after pluging in this purge valve the car worked ok for a few days , today it refused to start , i unplugged it like it was before and the engine started , what this can be ?

Scan it for faults, might be the gasoline cap or the purge valve on the evap canister (in the rear passenger wheel well)
