Is the final vertic still the hotter then stock IK16 for lightly modded C32 (Evo ODPS, Full SL55 Intake) in HOT weather?

No one is going to do a comparison on a dyno to say which one might give a few more horsepower, so you will just have to make up your own mind as too which one you want.

I run the IK-22 and it definitely gives more power in the 5k-6k rpm range just like the IK-16. The IK-22 will lower your coolant temps by about 5 degrees, not sure about the IK-16's.

IK20's are the stock heat range, so to answer your question, no....i am running IK22's right now, but i just put them in and have not decided yet if i like them or not...

the car ran great with the IK16's, but they are one heat range hotter than stock and the car felt like it was pulling a little timing on the top end...

I am picking up my car this PM with newly installed Ik20s and Magnecor wires, along with a Quaife LSD. I will post my opinion of the plug swap in a few days!

i have k16... and aside from smoother idle and smoother high rpm pull, I'm having a bit of an issue for low rpm throttle response.

Believe it or not, I had better throttle response with my old plugs and wires.

Maybe with the ECU and IC pump, it will better.

can someone explain how magnacor wires are better than OEM? it seems to me that the OEM wires are pretty good.

If IK16's are hotter than stock then I wouldn't recommend running them. Forced induction + hotter plugs = disaster waiting to happen. Stick with the stock heat range or the IK22's. Any colder you may start fouling the plugs.

ok...

l'm not happy with the K16s

now... i'm having real issues with the low rpm engine response....

before the plugs and wires, I had received my ECU update and the car was running strong at every speed... a little dab of the throttle and car moved forward.

Now.. cruising at 40, i need to nail the pedal to the floor to get the car to kick in..

from a stop is not a problem... but from a roll... its not helping.

I have done the reset a few times and tomorrow, I plan to disconnect the battery.

I don't have the ECU yet and I'm thinking that k16's would be ideal for ECU and pulley and NOT just pulley alone.

I'll leave the plugs and get the ECU next along with the IC pump replacement. If this does not solve the problem... I'm done with this car.

I gues the answer to the thread is... get the K20's if you don't have a pulley kit and running mostly stock.

335i is just around the corner... and it would be a good time for deposit.

If you pull the IK16 plugs, check to see if the electrode is melted or porcelan is cracked. It most likely to occur under max boost and RPM, with a plug that is too hot.
