Be sure to work those new tires. New tires have a slippery top layer that you will want to scrub off. Good luck.

if you look up my old posts because i dont know where the time slip is anymore but on the leaking motor days before it fully blew it went mid 12's at around 85 deg out. i havnt looked for a long time and never went back with all the new mods back in the day. vadim at the time was the only person after a couple years to pull a .10 /sec on me

Yeah, I figured it's not 'to be taken seriously'. The more I think about it, there's a good reason why the time is going to be a 'really good' time: despite the device readings being accurate, it doesn't take into account reaction time, which can add up to about 1/2 second; the 'device' times are going to measure from the instant the car starts moving. Reaction time is part of the quarter mile time, so it wouldn't be fair to compare 'device' vs 'strip' times.

It is useful to see what the absolute ideal/best case time limit would be for the particular vehicle.

I did state clearly where the stats where taken from.

Best 1/4 so far is 11.74 @ 116.7 MPH at Orlando Speedworld. Best 1/8th mile time was 7.558, and best speed was 93.65. Best '60 was 1.695. The weather was in the upper 50's and DA at -500. I'm was so glad they prepped the track really well where I could floor it right off the line at around 1800 rpms without any wheel spin.

Nice time.

How were the conditions? My conditions were less than ideal.

You have me by a MPH in the 1/8 and 1/4, makes me want to get high flow secondaries.

Congrats!

Thanks, but the car is capable of better than my mash-it-and-go launch technique generates lol. The only thing I did was play with tire pressures. Temp was about 70, overcast and not too much wind. Tack prep was pretty decent (but not as good as MIR from what I heard) but i still managed to spin the passenger side tire to the point of overheating it. Still it was a blast and I can't shake the urge to go again Gotta get some DRs or an LSD and actually try to learn how to get off the line, I figure 12.5's are acheivable!

You cut a 1.9 60' just mashing it? Wish I was able to get prep like that lol.

I had to really feather it to cut my 1.9. If I just mashed and go it would be a 14 sec ET,

Lol my last run was 14.378 felt like I was driving on ice with spiked tires...passenger side tire was roasted. I was pretty happy for my first time though, I got 7 runs in and excluding the last spinfest, my slowest of the day was my first run- 13.036 @ 110.27

So i just picked up a C55 and looking to take to track thursday. Question for you guys on the launch.

I have always had AWD with the audis, so used to dumping at like 5k! No worries.

Now, with rwd and more power, do you guys launch with the TC on or off? The reason i ask is because the other day on the road, at a light, i floored it with the TC on and it gave me a perfect launch with no boggin and just a little bit of spin, but never cut off the motor to where it backed off. So it was like the perfect TC launch ive ever seen.

Will this happen if i mash it on the track or will i be cutting the motor out a bit and causing a bad time?

Also havent tried power brake yet off launch. I know in the audi DBW system, cant be done. Tried in the A3, brake, gas, and it reved but once off the brake, car just sat there until i let go of gas and rehit it.

Any help would be appreciated for this benz noob.

Traction control off for me. Ease into it then about 10-15 out mash it. Been cutting 1.9's pretty frequently with that method. Anything more agressive it will just spin.

Track was good. Pretty sticky.
Launched at 1500. Rolled out a bit then just floored it.
