Yes...it's the n00b again.

Sorry to clutter the board with questions, however I was curious to know how the stock AMG suspension/dampers hold up with after market lowering springs, say H&R.

I know on lesser automobiles it is customary to put aftermarket dampers on with springs, however I figured the AMG suspension should be diesel enough to handle the stress of the drop.

Opinions?

If you choose a set of lowering springs from a reputable tuner, you should be okay with the stock shocks. Personally, I am not in favor of the H&R springs + AMG shocks combination.

What do you feel are the best lowering springs then? I'm looking for a decent drop, but don't want to rub obviously.

Many members feel that Renntech springs are the best match. They can be pricey compared to other aftermarket springs, but email or PM Harris and he'll give you the lowdown.

Great, thanks for the info. I was planning on going for H&R really for the price plus they seem to be reputable.

If you go with H&R springs, you probably want to match them with Koni shocks. I've heard great reviews on H&R sport springs with Koni adjustables. This way, you can adjust the shocks to your desired level of comfort too.

I am running AMG struts and H&R springs currently. Not problems yet.

I also have the H&R springs and AMG struts/shocks, but I really dont like the ride. It feels too bouncy for me. I've got a set of Konis ordered from Pure MS, just waiting to get them installed. You should check them out for prices.

Did you order the adjustables?
