Leaking Transmission fluid and having transmission problems!

After having two flat tires hitting a pothole on Mass Pike I90 West

I just discovered my car was leaking transmission fluid!
that red oil stuff...

second problem

which has happened to me and others b4

was happended to me again today as I was trying to drive my car with a leaky trans fluid to the dealer.

The car kept on losing power creating a dangerous situation for me when i was on the highway!

The car constantly lost power as if the gears were not engaged and applying gas would get me nowhere butrev the engine to 7000 RPM like in neutral. Then after 1 min, I hear the gears engage and the rpm drops a little and the car gets power again

agian, the car scared the crap outta me on the highway when I was losing speed when the power lose problem came.......

im pretty pissed!

First you got Flat tires, then Now Leaking transmission fluid?? Damn, I hope you won't have any problems again.... for your second problem, I had similar case where sometimes(never on highway yet), I'm about to take off and car just revs up high for few seconds then takes off again....(It happend from 1st-2nd gear).... So Now, I usually drive in M mode which is much better!!!

PS:Hope everything gets solved ASAP....!!

that sucks... the leaking transmission issue is something that is pretty well known. it's all over the w203 forums. take it into the dealer, my dealer only good a couple hours to fix it...

hope everything gets fixed!

What I am seriously wanted to know is, I thought everyone here with a W203 has already experienced the transmission fluid leaking problem. Mine was parked still for 3 weeks and when I returned home, I saw the red fluid on the floor. I got it fixed quickly , so I never had a chance to experience the "lose power" situation. The dealer replaced the plug/ring something

I would like to know , before you had a flat tire problem, didn't you already fix the leaking problem ? Or was it the first time ?

If the leaking problem never happened before but it was the first time, then it is 'normal' to W203 ( friend of mine with a 2004 C200K also had this problem )

If the leaking problem occured as a second time following the flat tire problem; then I am curious what had caused the leaking ?

tony,

in Hk I am not afraid of any issues with my car...since Zung Fu people are nice and are not people that want to rip you off.

HERE IN THE US! Service ppl want to rip you off! and they take forever to fix cars...

well, the real problem i am worried about is not about the leaking transmission oil. But the Transmission issue.....its really dangerous not being able to accelerate in the U.S massive highways ....the car keeps on losing speed....

it could be not enough tranny flud in the resovoir (sp?) that's causing the gears issue and power loss cuz the tranny doesn't have fluid to do its job?

hope everything gets solved quickly.

Does anything pop up on the malfunction screen? My car was having problems and it kept flashing ABS, BAS and I would lose total power while driving. The car would struggle.. I would get to a red light and when it turned green it would take a little bit for the car to kick back in. The whole speedometer actually would shut off and I couldn't tell how fast I was going if I was just cruising around town. It was pretty weird but I brought it to the dealer and I haven't had a problem since.

This problem of loss of power and oil leaks are well known toMB. I had the same problem with mySL 350. It certainly scared the hell out of me. I Sued and was able to show that they had been aware of these problems since at least 1996 I had 3 witnesses with the same problem give evidence.i believe the only way forward is for a joint effort between car owners to challenge, even if it were only by way of petition ,but to let them know that their customers are wise of their game. They even tried to get at one of my witnesses but failed!

w211 e350 e 250
regards to all
i have the same error code
but heres what happened and now i need help
i have a 2005 e350
it showed jerks in transmission
i used the scanner it said there was a problem with one of the conductor plate sensors
so my mech took out the plate and we changed the sensor and put it back in. the plate however wasnt in too good a condition to begin with
parts are tough to come by where i am at the mo
so the plate was now not showing any gears in instrument cluster. we put the car in first gear and it accelerated like crazy and then something blew in the gear itself.
so we opened the gear and some parts had broken so we found another gear and rebuilt it
found another conductor plate too.
so now this new plate is detected and we have gears again but car not moving
old plate was blown couldnt recover data
so we called in a guy to program for us he did the coding and car still not moving
i have another e280 . we took its data and pasted its data into the new plate
now the car moves only in c mode all gears and occasionally looses power spec on deceleration.
sports mode and first gear is not working at all.
any advice i am at my wits end.....
