K & N filter question

Is it necessary to install the rubber seal when I install the air filters for my C32? One of my rubber seal is missing!

Thanks.

Yes! If you don't, it will not seal properly.

Oh, I forgot to ask, in the instruction manual, they mentioned that we have to use their enclosed "worm metal clamps" to tighten the air ducts as well. However, I found none of these clamps in my packages. To save time, can I just go to the regular hardware shops and buy those clamps to tighten the air duct?

Thanks.

The clamps are only 5/16th od an inch wide. Why not ask K&N to send you the missing parts?

Called K & N today and requested for the gasket. Will call tomorrow and ask for the missing 2 clamps.

How come my packages missed so much stuff?

what if it doesn't come with rubber seal?

I am going to order a couple of green filters from my local dealer but they said it doesn't come with rubber gaskets and clamps.

Probably Green Filters are tight fit with your air filter box. Also, they expect you to use your old clamps.

I see, but I don't think the clamps are re-usable.

Our club had a service manager and technician speak at the monthly breakfast meeting Saturday. They said that we should not oil the K&N filters after they are washed, because the oil has damaged the mass air flow sensor. They suggest replacing the filter without oiling it. I'm about to clean mine. Any experience with this, or comments?

The oil is what filters the dirt. Do not run a K&N without the oil. Besides the C32 does not use a MAF sensor, so there is nothing to worry about.

I believe there is not much hp gain, it only improves the air flow in the engine.
