Smoked a modified C4
On the way down to NYC this past weekend, I had a run in on a straight away and no traffic with a modified C4 Vette. He intiated the race -- I was driving about 80mph, when he pulled on the highway from the onramp - I quickly noticed he was giving it some serious gas to catch up. I slowed down to about 65 and he stayed steady once he caught up, then I gave it a punch -- 65-90 he was at least 2 car lengths behind me. As we approached some vehicles on the road, I slowed down. He kept going like a lunatic weaving inside and out (not cool). LOL, I'm sure he had no idea what he was going up against -- I love my sleeper

I was jogging the other day, and I saw this C4 on the road next to me. So I gave him a look and a nod and said: You wanna go? He floored it, I hoofed it, and I had him for at least a quarter mile, after that though, he slowly walked away. Glad it wasn't a ZR-1 though, those things can roll. Especially if the owners were zesty with the mods. I think 0-60 was about 4.9 (which is close to equal to the 32 and 55) and with mods, sky was the limit. I think that might have been the first engine with variable output. They called it a valet restrictor or something. Essentially you could cut out the power either by closing down a couple cylinders or some other gizmo that I never investigated, but I find it funny how corvette does all these things and then they fail, and then they become super popular twenty years later. Funny to me, I guess.
