Service A - Quoted $235.00

I called my local dealership to schedule an appointment for my service A maintenance and figured the price wasn't going to be cheap. I also called a few other dealerships to compare prices. It seems this is pretty much in the ball park for California. Some were as high as $280 and the lowest I called was $198. Kind of an expensive oil change - lol!

Is there anything else I should know when I bring in my car tomorrow? Anything else I should have them check?

Thanks,
Nick

PS What year did they discontinue the complimentary service schedules?

Was it $165 for Service A, b/c Laguna Niguel was one of the dealerships I called yesterday to compare and their service tech. quoted me $250 (Bakersfield was $280 & Modesto was $198). Weird?

I'm going to see if my local dealership will match a better price. Worth a try. I'll be bringing in my car this afternoon. We'll see what loaner car they give me. Of course I'll beat the HELL out of that car! It's our right for getting ripped off!

What exactly does the service A include? I paid $107 for my 5k mile oil change at the Fletcher Jones dealer here in Vegas.

We have the worst service here in Germany... last week i took my E320 CDI to my dealer to have its Service C and "SBC Call-back" done. I was totally in shock when i saw the bill.. it says 730 Euro on it!! I thought it would be much cheaper this time because I brought my own enigine oil but i was wrong... Nothing has been repaired, the labor costs were like 385 Euro and the material cost was only 237 and another 16% of tax...

its just sad...

***UPDATE***

When I took my car in last Thursday the total actually came out to $170 - not $235 like they quoted me over the phone! Of course I didn't argue. I got a black '05 C240 for a loaner car and man...that thing was gutless! Nice overall though for the money.

I also asked about the little squeak I hear occasionally when braking and they said they found nothing wrong my brakes but that this is normal and they might be a little glazed. He suggested braking really hard every once in a while.
