I have a nasty creeking sound once the car is warmed. I can repeat the noise by bouncing the front left and right shocks. This is an 02 C coupe, anyone have this problem?

I had a similar problen on my old S4, sounds like a suspension problem, tie rod, bushing etc...take it to the dealer, are you still under warranty?

That's a classic symptom
of a worn strut (assuming there hasn't been any damage from accident, curbs, potholes, etc.).

Hi Tmak26b,

90% chance it is the front sway bar mounting rubbers. My C32 had exactly the same noise when warm and I found the rubbers deteriorated and the one on the drivers side was excessively worn and also causing a slight knock when travelling over rough roads. The new rubbers only cost AUD $30.50 and have been improved by MB ie; they are wider which ensures a greater surface contact area with the sway bar.

My first post and I hope this helps you out,

Joe

I had the same problem with my 02 C240. Dealer was never able to fix it, but then again was infrequent. Still very embarasing though.

It's under warranty, I just want to get some info before i go over there. I already recorded the problem on tape, just in case the car refuse to do it at the dealer

Sway bar bushing sounds like it

No fun creeking
I have the exact same problem. It started before I had my suspension replaced and now that I got it back from the body shop it creeks even worse, but only when its warmed up after a good 20 minutes or so. Its driving nuts. I am taking it back to the body shop, or the dealership on the body shops dime.
